Nagaland Motorcycle Club reaches out to 217 field-staff of Power Dept

Kohima, June 21 (MExN): Taking the platform of World Motorcycle Day (June 21), the Nagaland Motorcycle Club (NMC) reached out to 217 field-staff of the Power Department in three districts of Dimapur, Kohima and Tuensang.

Majority of the field-staff were workcharge employees.

NMC has three chapters - Dimapur, Kohima and Tuensang - at present in Nagaland.

Electrical field-workers and some of their counterparts in other departments, unlike most government servants who have been able to work from home since last year due to the pandemic, have been taking immense additional risk to ensure that electricity in the State does not get disrupted to the best of their ability despite technical and financial handicaps, stated the NMC in a release.

The Club, as a small gesture of its appreciation and gratitude to their invaluable service, collected a sum of Rs 1,08,500 amongst its members in the three districts and distributed the same 217 field workers through their respective offices, it said.

The NMC prayed that God protect them from accidents and COVID-19 along with their family members as they go about discharging their duties diligently for our comforts, it added.
