Kohima, March 9 (MExN): Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and several others mourned the sudden demise of Visevonuo Bebi Tsürho, President, NDPP Women Organization who passed away in Kohima on March 9 morning.
“She was a dedicated member of the party and was instrumental in founding the NDPP from the time of the party's inception,” Rio stated in a condolence message received here.
Late Bebi made significant contributions towards the upliftment of women, development of women empowerment and gender equality. Rio stated that she was Principal of Kohima Law College, which she served with utmost sincerity. In her demise, the NDPP has lost a prominent leader and Naga society bids farewell to a person who had so much more to contribute. Her passing has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, Rio added.
NDPP: NDPP, President Chingwang Konyak stated “she was a dedicated party member who was instrumental in founding the NDPP and contributed immensely towards the upliftment and development of women empowerment and gender equality.” She headed the women organization with leadership, dedication, loyalty and honesty, Konyak added.
Minister Neiba Kronu: In a condolence message, Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu stated “She was a committed and dedicated leader who had rendered her best services for the organisation during her short period with the party. In her demise we have lost a good member and a remarkable woman leader.”
Advisor to Chief Minister: Advisor to Chief Minister Abu Metha in a condolence message expressed shock over the sudden demise of Visevonuo Bebi Tsürho.
He stated that late Bebi was a founding member of the NDPP and she has made immense contributions towards the cause of the Party from the day the idea of the NDPP took birth.
“Her passing away is also a personal loss, as she was not only a colleague, but like an elder sister to me. Our responsibilities made us work together very closely under varied circumstances. I will always recollect the fond memories of our experiences for all times to come and will greatly miss her,” Metha said. He also conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
BJP Nagaland President: Temjen Imna Along, President BJP Nagaland state described Bebi as a refined woman. “Her leadership skills and her concern for women folks are well known,” Along stated adding that in her passing, the PDA has loss a remarkable woman leader of this generation.
“An empowered woman, an inspirational to many, a humble soul, Bebi was a teacher and a guide as she served in various capacities and also led the women folks in NDPP party as president central women organization,” stated DUDA advisor N Bongkhao Konyak in a condolence message.“Along with the NDPP Tobu area, I convey my sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and pray that Almighty God will grant solace at this dark hour,” he added.
Dy CM and BLP leader: The Dy CM and BLP leader Y Patton in a condolence message said that late Visevonuo was an active NDPP party worker, an educator and a feminist who made significant contributions in all the paths she walked. “Her demise is a great loss to the family and the Nagas,” Patton said and on behalf of the state BJP legislatures, the Dy CM conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NDPP Youth Organisation: The NDPP Youth Organisation recollected late Bebi as a leader with vast knowledge and experience. Her leadership as a woman has been exemplary and unparalleled and she will be remembered for inspiring many achievements, the organization President, Kelhouneizo Yhome stated. All rank and file of the NDPP Youth Organisation conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members of late Visevonuo and pray that God Almighty grant peace and comfort in times of untold sorrow, may the departed soul rest in peace.
NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C: The NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C with MLA Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Retd), Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs mourned the sudden demise of Visevonuo Bebi Tsürhuo. “She was a simple, humble and efficient leader of the masses and always prioritised for the uplift of women. While mourning her demise, it is our prayer that the living God grant solace to the bereaved family and bless them to brave the void left by her,” the party stated.
NLSF: The Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) expressed shock over the sudden and untimely demise of Visevonuo (Bebi), Principal Kohima Law College. The federation in a condolence message stated that late M Visevonuo (Bebi) was an excellent lecturer, a Principal and a nicest human being the students’ have ever come across. Indeed, it’s a sad day for the Law Students’ of the state. The outstanding contribution she has made to the law students is and was an ineffable. Her passing away is a great loss for the Law Students of the state and an irreparable loss to the Federation. Hence, the void caused by her death would be difficult to fill, they stated. The NLSF conveyed its deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
Kohima Law College: The administration, teaching, non-teaching staff and students community of Kohima Law College (KLC) have expressed shock at the untimely demise of the college Principal, Visevonuo (Bebi).
She joined KLC as lecturer in the year 1996 and became the first and only female law college principal in Nagaland from 2006 till date.
“For the college administration, she was the pillar of strength and authority, for the staff, she was the best friend, and the students, she was principal, teacher, parent and friend rolled into one. Her formidable physical presence and commanding voice belied the loving, caring and sensitive soul within,” the college stated in a press note.
“Today the college has lost a wonderful soul who has dedicated her life to teach what is right and values of humanity, however, the college as a family also celebrates for her good life though it was brief.” It stated. The KLC prayed for her soul and also conveyed its sincere condolences to the bereaved family members.
