Nagaland Water Policy approved
DIMAPUR, JULY 23 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has approved the Nagaland Water Policy, 2016 under the First Schedule, Section 22 of the Nagaland Rules of Executive Business, 2016 with immediate effect. A DIPR report informed that the notification to this effect was issued with the approval of the State Cabinet on June 28.
CMO Kohima directs food business operators
DIMAPUR, JULY 23 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer, Kohima has asked all food business operators in the district to comply with the directives issued by the Commissioner of Food Safety. The directives state that no food business operator shall manufacture, store, sell or distribute any article of food which is misbranded. It also prohibits the sale or exhibit for sale of packaged drinking water except under the Bureau of Indian Standards Certification Mark and the display of FSSAI License number on the label. Further, it prohibits sale of powdered spices and condiments except under packed conditions. While asking all traders to comply with these directives, the CMO further urged the public to report any complaints to the CMO’s office.
Khezhakeno to be declared LED lighted village
Phek, July 23 (MExN): Khezhakeno village in Phek district will be declared as LED lighted village at a programme scheduled to be held on July 27, 11:00 am at Village Council Hall. Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Orenthung Lotha (NCS) will be the special guest, informed a DIPR report. Short speeches will be delivered by CPO president, Kekhwengolo Lea; Village Council Chairman Khezhakeno, S Kepfhelhou Ladu; Additional Secretary & Additional Director ATI, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, NCS; and TPO president, Timikha Koza, Advocate.
ACAUT cautions against fraudsters
DIMAPUR, JULY 23 (MExN): The ACAUT Nagaland today informed that there have been reports of a certain individual impersonating as a lawyer for and a core member of the organization, who frequents government departments, offices and institutions. A press note from the ACAUT Nagaland media cell stated that the only officially designated legal advisor and advocate for ACAUT Nagaland is K Savi, who is also a core member. It added that apart from Savi, lawyers like CT Jamir, Zhekheli and NM Jamir are representing ACAUT in specific cases. The ACAUT therefore asked government departments and public to be aware of any fraudster claiming to be an advocate for ACAUT. It further informed that the organization has not authorized any lawyer or core-member to undertake threats against the departments and asked departments to be cautious against such fraudsters.
DC Mkg invites for District Award
Mokokchung, July 23 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has informed all Head of Departments to submit deserving cases for District Award to Gazetted officers/Non-Gazetted officials for examination and consideration by the District Level Committee to be awarded on August 15. According to a DIPR report, the following criteria must be strictly observed by the HoDs: ACR/APAR for three years; Length of service should be more than ten years; Recommendation along with a brief write-up about the exceptional contribution of the employee; HODs may recommend only one employee for each category/grade. The recommendation, if any, should be submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung on or before August 4.
UGC notifies on revaluation
DIMAPUR, JULY 23 (MExN): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification through its Secretary, Prof Rajnish Jain on July 19 that the Central Information Commission (CIC) has advised Ministry of Human Resource Development to instruct the Vice Chancellors/Registrars of all the universities to suo-moto bring out the guidelines for revaluation of the answer sheets detailing the procedure prescribed for the benefit of the larger students community impacted by such decisions and in larger public interest involved in the matter. A DIPR report stated that UGC has directed universities to initiate appropriate necessary action and also give suitable direction to all the colleges affiliated and ensure compliance to the CIC order as stated above.
Special camp for people with disabilities in Wokha
Wokha, July 23 (MExN): EAC Wokha, Tumpen Tsanglao has informed that the Wokha District Legal Services Authority will be conducting special camp for people with disabilities on July 31 and August 1 at Town Hall, Wokha. In this regard, concerned individuals have been requested to participate for the welfare of the people with disabilities.
EDBA elects new office team
Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has elected new office bearers for the tenure of 2018 -2021.
