CMO Phek informs
PHEK, JULY 24 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Phek has informed all the heads of offices of Phek district that there will be District Medical Board for confirmation of service/invalidation commutation of pension after medical examination for pensioners (Grade-III & IV) on September 12 at 10:00 am at CMO office, Phek. Therefore, all head of the departments have been asked to send the list to the CMO office on or before September 10.
Meeting held for Dimapur road improvement
DIMAPUR, JULY 24 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel convened a meeting regarding improvement of city portion road of Dimapur (NH-39 old) from New Field Check Gate (Km 106-900) to Patkai (Km 124-200) in EPC mode at the conference hall of DC on July 20. The meeting was attended by Commissioner & Secretary, Works & Housing, Nagaland, officials from PHED, Power and representatives of councils along the national highway. A DIPR report informed that all the representatives assured their cooperation for the successful implementation of the project. The DC through a press release has appealed to all citizens to extend their cooperation for the successful completion of the project.
Peren District meeting for I-Day held
PEREN, JULY 24 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Independence Day Celebration on August 15, S.Tainiu, DC Peren convened a joint meeting on July 23 at DC Conference Hall, New DC Complex, Peren. All Head of Offices in the District were present at the meeting, a release from DPRO, Peren stated. During the meeting DC Peren along with members present planned out in detail the work distribution for Independence Day Celebration, 2018. DC also declared that mass social work at New DC Complex will be held on August 8 which will be made known to all head of offices in the District for compliance.
PSU extends support to LSU on ILP
DIMAPUR, JULY 24 (MExN): The Pochury Students' Union (PSU) has acknowledged and appreciated the noble work and initiative taken up by the Lotha Students' Union (LSU) with regard to Inner Line Permit(ILP) system, to curb the influx of the illegal immigrants. A press release from Atsopu Pfithu, Vice President PSU said “the influx of illegal immigrants into our state has become a threat in our society which is due to the inefficient regulation of the present ILP system. The union further urged the government to come out with strong and effective regulations on ILP system so as ”to strictly monitor the influx of the illegal immigrants into our State.” The PSU later added that it strongly supported the initiatives of the Lotha Students' Union called for reforming the existing ILP system to the Government.
St Xavier's Catholic Church Kidima Sales Day
DIMAPUR, JUNE 24 (MExN): St Xavier's Catholic Church Kidima under Kohima Diocese of Vegetable Village will be organizing a sales day in aid of new church building on July 25 at Bamboo Building below Police Headquarters (PHQ), Kohima. The organizing committee through a press release from P Tepekrovi Kiso has informed that indigenous resources and organic items like allium chinesis (khuvie), chilli, banana, tomato, wild mushroom, oak tree worm (lonyü), bee, crab, snail, local pork, local rice including bamboo and meat chopping wood would be available at the sales day.
GB Union, Dimapur elects new members
Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The GBs Union Dimapur (GBUD) annual general meeting was held on July 13 at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur. A press release from Chithungo Lotha, Secretary, Nominating Committee stated that representatives from District Administration and Civil Societies exhorted the GB members on its role, responsibilities and the commitment of a GB towards the society. Discussion on matters pertaining to GB Union was deliberated for better working system. M Y Ngullie, President, T Onen Jamir, General Secretary and H Daniel Swu, Finance Secretary were elected as office bearers for the tenure 2018-2023 which was approved by the general body, the release said.
