World Hepatitis Day

Kohima, July 27 (MExN): Nagaland along with the rest of the world will be observing World Hepatitis Day on July 28 under the theme “Test- treat, Hepatitis.” In Kohima, the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, Nagaland Users Network and Kripa Foundation will jointly organize a programme to commemorate the day at Hotel Japfu from10:00 am onwards. Dr. Tokuho Chishi, Director, Family Welfare, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare will be the guest speaker.  

ADC Kohima notifies for removal of water pipelines

DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa in a public notice stated that the water pipelines in the Old Minister Hill Colony especially between the KMC Chau Parking and Jail Colony Junction, Kohima has completely blocked the drains and culverts, preventing free flow of water, thus causing damage to the public roads. In this connection, the ADC has notified to all individuals drawing water through that particularly stretch to remove the water pipes from the drains within 7(seven) days from the date of issue of this notice i.e. July 27, 2018, failing which, the authority will take necessary action as deemed fit against the failures.  

Meeting for smooth passage of traffic

Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel(IAS) and attended by Commissioner & Secretary ( W&H) Nagaland, GM, NHDICL, DGP Traffic, DTO, EE PWD(NH) EAC Chumukedima and DPRO Dimapur, was convened on July 27 in the office chamber of DC Dimapur. The members deliberated on issues regarding limit of tonnage of overloaded trucks on NH 29 and improvement of existing NH 29 for smooth passage of traffic, a DIPR report said. DC Dimapur discussed to issue an order to check the overloading along NH 29. The Niuland -Zhadima-Kohima road is opened for light vehicles only. Accordingly light vehicles shall be encouraged to take the said route for vehicles proceeding to Kohima. GM, NHIDCL was requested to improve the condition of NH- 29 for smooth passage of traffic.  

26th Spero Meliora

Kohima, July 27 (MExN): The Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) and Dolphin Club Kohima is jointly organizing 26th Spero Meliora 2018 on July 28 at Kohima Village Council Hall. Asano Sekhose, Chairman, Nagaland Board of School Education will grace the inaugural function at 9:00 AM. The 26th Spero Meliora will be marked by debate, solo, cultural group song, quiz, painting, essay and spelling bee. Valedictory function will take place at 5:00 PM, a release informed.  

ADC Mon notifies on trade license

Mon, July 27 (MExN): ADC & Administrator Mon Town Council, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS on July 27 notified to all the business establishments/shops functioning without trade licence or expired trade license under Mon Town to renew/apply trade license at Mon town office within one week from the date of issue of this notice. Stern action will be taken against those defaulters after expiry of the stipulated period, a DIPR report said.  

Tractors to be distributed at Agri Expo

Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): There will be distribution of tractors and implements under GIA/SFA to Local Rural Bodies on July 30 at Agri Expo, Dimapur by Chief Minister, Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio. In this regard, Director, Department of Rural Development has directed all beneficiaries and all recipients of Best VDB Award 2017 from 11 Districts to report at the venue by 9:00 am on July 30. All VDB secretaries and Village Council Chairman under Dimapur District have been requested to attend the programme along with 3 members each.  

NSCN (R) discharge one

Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has discharged Maj Liose (Tinos) Sangtam of United Sangtam Region (USR) from active national service with immediate effect, on ground of Breach of National Ahza and Party Discipline. According to the MIP, Maj Liose was found indulging in illegal activities as well as several complains from United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP). The release further apprised "all concerned not to entertain him in any matter pertaining to the affairs of the government."
