WCH & Aoyimkum Village reconciles
Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Hoho and Aoyimkim Village Council have amicably resolved the assault that was meted out on Vekhosayi Nyekha, former WCH President by Aoyimkum villagers on May 24 2014 in the presence of WCH and ASTD at WCH council hall, Dimapur on July 28. In a release it stated that “as approached and requested by the Aoyimkum Village Council for reconciliation with the Western Chakhesang Hoho,” the later has been considered and forgiven in true Christian spirit. The release also maintained that the two communities will maintain harmony and peaceful co-existence for the coming days. The statement was signed by Vekhosayi Nyekha, former President, WCH and L Nukhshi Ozukum, Chairman Aoyimkum Village Council and witnessed by Dietho Rhakho, President, WCH and L Wati Jamir, President Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur.
Conclave on disaster management held
Peren, July 28 (MExN): A conclave on disaster management for Faith based organised by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority(NSDMA) under the theme 'Be a ready Congregation' was held on July 27 at old Peren town with ADC Peren as special guest. A DIPR report said that resource person Karen Rose Koza, Media Officer and DDMO Peren spoke on the role of faith based organization on disaster management. The program was chaired by DPA Peren Kedilong.
DECYF supports food safety drive
DIMAPUR, JULY 28 (MExN): The Industrial Estate Colony Youth Forum (DECYF), Dimapur today extended its support to the Department of Health and Family Welfare in its drive to impose food safety standards in Dimapur and the rest of the state. A press note from the DECYF stated that the Industrial Estate Colony, Tenali Market serves thousands of people for more than 10 colonies and nearby suburbs in neighboring Assam, and to ensure that the foods be fit for human consumption the forum has ordered all vegetables and fruit vendors as well as bakeries and other shops that strict action will be initiated if the food are found to be unhygienic and contaminated with chemicals injurious to health. It further supported the Chief Minister's call to stop using non-degradable plastic bags by November 2018. The forum asked all people and the business community in the area to strictly adhere by the rule.
Meeting for I-Day, Wokha held
Wokha, July 28 (MExN): A meeting for distribution of work for the forthcoming Independence Day celebration was held on July 26 at DC’s Conference Hall Wokha. The meeting was chaired by DC, Dr.Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS. Several departments were entrusted with various work and activities for the successful observation.
PSUD expresses sorrow
Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The Poilwa Students’ Union Dimapur (PSUD) has expressed pain and sorrow over the demise of Gekhotso (Gebu) Haralu on July 23 in Dimapur after prolonged illness. “Late Gebu hailing from Poilwa Village is one of the early Graduates/MA among our people. From his early days he had a great zeal for student’s community,” the union stated in a condolence message. The message from PSUD president, Asap Hangky added that the union loved, admired, and honoured him as a guardian and a true leader. Gebu, it further acknowledged, was an honest and dedicated teacher who laboured and toiled with all his capacities as a teacher. His death is a great loss to the Zeliangrong community in general and Poilwa people in particular, the union added, while conveying condolence to the bereaved family.
