MRVC orientation for school heads and nodal teachers

Kohima, July 30 (MExN): In view of the upcoming Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) which is scheduled to be launched in Nagaland on October 3, an orientation programme for the Principal/Headmaster/Headmistress and the Nodal Teachers of all the schools (both government and private) in Kohima Urban area will be held on July 31, 10:00 am at Baptist High Mission Compound. Informing this in a press release, Medical Officer I/C of Urban Primary Health Centre, Dr. Aomeren Longkumer has requested all the concerned members to attend the programme positively.  

DDADU informs to claim battery

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) head office has received a battery (Luminous company) brought by an autorickshaw driver. Therefore, DDADU general secretary, Inoto Shohe in a press release has asked the rightful owner to come and collect the same from the head office at Super Market near Hotel Saramati during office hours within seven days. The owner is required to produce original cash memo, it added.  

DCCI urges businesses to maintain cleanliness

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): Following the Dengue alert sounded in Dimapur, the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has appealed to all shopkeepers and business organizations in Dimapur district to clean their surrounding premises and make sure that there is no stagnant water around. A press note from the DCCI General Secretary, Sanjay Sethi asked the business community and citizens to help and participate with the concerned health agencies and DMC to get rid of the diseases and make Dimapur a healthy and hygienic city.  

CMO Wokha notifies on medical board examination

Wokha, July 30 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Wokha, Dr. Robin Lotha has notified to all the employees of State service in Wokha district that Medical Board Examination for service confirmation will be held every first Wednesday at 10:00 am in the following months – August 2018, November 2018, February 2019 and May 2019. Therefore, those who are yet to appear for medical board examination have been asked to come to the CMO office, Wokha as directed.  

ANCSU 39th Foundation Day on August 2

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) will commemorate its 39th Foundation Day cum Degree Toppers Felicitation program on August 2 at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima from 11:00 am onwards. ANCSU in a press release issued by General Secretary Vimeyiekho Vitso has requested all its senior leaders and well wishers to attend the programme. It further informed that all affiliated colleges are to delegate students as asked. The union will felicitate 54 subject toppers of the recently declared degree result under Nagaland University, SCTE and Autonomous colleges to encourage the students for better performance and competitiveness in the future. Kuholi Chishi, Director, Higher Education, Government of Nagaland will grace the occasion as special guest and Neingulo Krome, Secretary General NPMHR & Founding Member ANCSU will exhort the gathering.  

NPRAAF mourns member’s death

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) has mourned the demise of William K Lotha, Secretary for its Music & Cultural Affairs on July 24 in Dimapur after a brief illness. William was a founding member of NPRAAF and “ceaselessly crusaded against all forms of corruption in the State” ever since the inception of NPRAAF on February 28, 2016, stated a condolence note from NPRAAF. NPRAAF further recollected that in every meeting, William expressed optimism that one day Nagaland will see better roads, health, education, and free of corruption if every NPRAAF member continues to champion the cause of the people till the dawn of justice. “NPRAAF will remember his priceless contribution made towards the organization,” it added.  

NSCN(IM) condoles

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): NSCN(IM) has mourned the demise of Major Bendang Jamir (Army No. KL-20147) of the General Head Quarters, Naga Army at Eden Hospital, Dimapur on July 25 after a prolonged illness. According to a message from MIP, he joined the National Service on February 2, 1994 and remained loyal and dedicated to the National Service until his demise. “His contribution to the National cause shall ever be cherished,” it said. The Office of the Longvibu, Naga Army, in paying homage and as a mark of tribute to the departed Naga Army officer, bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. It also extended condolences to his near and dear ones.  

Tobu SDPDB meeting held

TOBU, JULY 30 (MExN): Tobu SDPDB meeting cum pre co-ordination meeting for Independence Day was held at ADC conference hall on July 25. According to a report from IA Tobu, A Zibenthung Kithan, Vice Chairman, SDPDB Tobu requested all the Heads of Offices to execute their duties regularly. Points discussed at the meeting were construction of ADC government quarter and construction of water reserves tank at Tobu HQ.
