ANCSU backs NSF on detecting illegal immigrants
Kohima, August 7 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has extended its fullest cooperation and support to the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) in the mission for segregating genuine citizens from illegal immigrants. A press release from its President Katho P Awomi and General Secretary Vimeyiekho Vitso has lauded the NSF for taking up the matter seriously, “as this measure would ultimately ensure a better tomorrow for Nagaland.” The union also appealed the general public to extend cooperation.
AR apprehend one with extortion slips
Kohima, August 7 (MExN): Based on specific information Assam Rifles, Kohima Battalion launched a search operation on August 6 at Jail Colony, Kohima along with a police representative. During the search operation, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended one Ruokuosao Kenguruse (21) and recovered 29 extortion slips. The apprehended person along with recovered items was handed over to South Police Station for further investigation, Maj L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) in a release informed.
Lotovi Village condemns kidnap & murder
Dimapur, August 7 (MExN): The GBs, Village Council and general public of Lotovi Village in a representation letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur vehemently condemned the barbaric act of kidnap for ransom and murder of one of their member's son. Head GB Honito Swu and other Village Council GBs Vikuto, Satovi, Atovi, Vikheto, Tohevi in the letter urged “the executive and judiciary to award befitting punishment to the highest degree to the accused and their accomplices without any leniency as per the law of the land.” While it urged the authority not to represent the accused and grant bail, it further pressed the law enforcing agencies to thoroughly investigate the case.
