I-Day: Kohima shops to be closed till function is over
Kohima, August 14 (MExN): In view of the Independence Day celebration and as per the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all the shops/business establishments under its jurisdiction to remain closed from 7:00 am till the function is over. The directive was issued by KMC Administrator, Elizabeth Ngully.
Governor extends best wishes to Naga athletes
Kohima, August 14 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has offered best wishes to Jwensinle Kesen and Puleno Neikha and the Indian athletes who will be representing India at the upcoming 18th Asian Games to be held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from August 18 to September 2. Acharya called on the duo to enjoy the game and participate with the spirit of the game. “Every Naga is cheering for you,” he added in a press release.
PHH & AAY food grains release schedule
Kohima, August 14 (MExN): All the Fair Price Shops (FPS)/village councils of Kohima Centre have been informed that the PHH and AAY food grains will be released from August 17 onwards from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. A press release from Grace Metha, Senior Inspector, Food & Civil Supplies, Kohima has directed the concerned FPS/village councils to collect their respective quota as per the following schedule: Kezocha circle villagers and Merema, Tsiese Basa & Bawe, Thizama & Rusoma on August 17; Jakha circle villages on August 20; Kohima Sadar and Secü circle villages on August 21; and Kohima Town FPS on August 23 and 24.
GPRN/NSCN terminates one
Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): Office of the General Staff Officer (GSO)-1, GPRN/NSCN has terminated Lance Corporal Mankai of Konyak Region, bearing A/No. 19125, from the active service of GPRN/NSCN “for breaching the Azha of the nation by committing anti-national activities.” A termination order from GPRN/NSCN secretary, R Sangtam dated August 14 stated the order comes with immediate effect.
Dimapur Sadar GBs informed
Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): GBs Union Dimapur (Urban) has informed all the GBs within Dimapur Sadar area to assemble at DDSC Stadium at 8:00 am on August 15 for the Independence Day celebration. A press release from the union president, MY Ngullie and general secretary, T Onen Jami stated that all the GBs attendance will be recorded. The GBs were asked to come in uniform.
KLSU Work and Earn Day held
Kohima, August 14 (MExN): Office of the Kohima Lotha Students’ Union (KLSU) held Work and Earn Day on August 11 in aid of the upcoming events of the union. Representatives of various colleges from Kohima took active participation in the same, said a press release from Yanren Humtsoe, KLSU Member. KLSU through the release thanked the various Lotha dignitaries and individuals who have contributed towards the union.
