State-wide mass social work from September 29- October 2
Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): Mass social work will be conducted throughout the state from September 29 to October 2. A DIPR report stated that all the administrative HQs under the state will be provided funds for the social work of Rs 1,50,000, Rs.75,000 and Rs.40,000 for all District HQs, ADC HQs and SDO (C), BM, EAC HQs respectively. All elected members, departments contractors/NGOs, local bodies and individuals have been asked to actively participate and extend assistance with available machineries and man powers.
AICC Faleiro to visit Nagaland
Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): Ex-Chief Minister of Goa and present AICC General Secretary i/c of North East States Luizinho Faleiro will be on a three day visit to Nagaland from September 27-29. He will be meeting Congress party workers and will address the PCC Extended Executive Committee meeting at Congress Bhavan, Kohima on September28, NPCC General Secretary Capt GK Zhimomi informed in a press release. All PCC Executive Committee members, special invitees, PCC office bearers, Frontal Chiefs and DCC Presidents are asked to attend the meeting without fail.
ANTA holds annual presidential meet
Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The unit Presidents of seven districts of All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) along with the executive members of ANTA Kohima held its annual presidential meeting at Ura Hotel, Kohima on September 27. During the meeting, the tenure of the executive members was extended to five years from three years and also amended other articles from its standing Constituiton, a press release from Viba Solo President ANTA, Hqs Kohima stated.
Akavi tenders resignation from AAP
Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): Founding Member Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nagaland Unit Akavi N Zhimomi who earlier contested for the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Ghaspani-1 AC Constituency this February has tendered his resignation from the party with “immediate effect.” Stating his reason for stepping down from the party, Akavi, in a letter addressed to the party’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal said, “The events that have unfolded in the recent times within the party executives in Nagaland have impelled me to take this step. In my four years association with the party, I have given my unparallel services for the growth of the party in the State.” “I will cherish the fond memories and I leave the party with a deep sense of gratitude,” he added.
DMC to give free anti-rabies vaccine on September 28
Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all pet owners (dogs) that DMC’s Veterinary & Public Health Cell will be observing the World Rabies Day on September 28 at the DMC office premises by giving free anti rabies vaccine. Administrator Moa Sangtam in a press release has asked all ward/colony chairman and GB's to inform dog owners in their colonies to avail the opportunity without fail. The programme will start from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
BNSS Nagaland attends national conference
Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): A delegation of Bhrastachar Nirmulan Sangharsh Samiti (BNSS) Nagaland participated at the National Conference on September 17-18 at Latur Maharashtra. A press release by Kedou Rupreo, Chief Organiser, BNSS Nagaland and R Sopu Angami, President, BNSS Nagaland stated that the delegation led by Vineizo Tsurho, General Secretary BNSS Nagaland took part among 300 delegates from 21 states and union territories, where Minister of Labour, Maharashtra Sambhaj Rao Patil was the guest.
