
One dies in Kohima accident
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): In a fatal accident, one person died after the vehicle he was driving suffered brake failure and rolled down the road on the premises of Nagaland Police Headquarters (PHQ) in PR Hill Kohima on September 26. According to a police source, the accident occurred early Wednesday morning around 5:30 am and the police constable driver on duty identified as one Wilson died on the spot. The vehicle (Winger) fell below some 20 feet down, and landed near the under construction multi-parking building site.
Orientation for BBBP on September 27
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Department of Social Welfare and State Resource Centre for Women will be organizing a one-day orientation cum training programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on September 27, 10:00 am with the state and district nodal officers. A DIPR release here informed that the programme will be held at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Science & Technology, Kohima.
IRS Kohima deactivated
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA Kohima has informed that the Incident Response System (IRS) Kohima has been deactivated with immediate effect till further orders in view of the recent respite and the situation coming to normalcy, a DIPR release here informed.
Govt appeals for participation in mass social work
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): In view of the proposed mass social work throughout the state from September 29 to October 2, all departments, contractors, tribal bodies, NGOs, local bodies have been requested to actively participate and contribute machineries, vehicles which can be made available to the District Administration for assistance. A circular from the Home department has stated that the Chief Minister will lead the social work at Kohima, the elected members will participate in respective districts and areas. Required fuels will be provided for the same by the administration.
KMC notifies on waste disposal
KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed the public that the timing for throwing of waste at the KMC collection point is from 5:00 am in the morning and 4:00 pm in the evening and as per Municipal SWM Rules, the defaulters throwing without the timing will be firmly dealt. Henceforth, KMC informed it will not collect waste from any unauthorized collection points. The concerned ward Panchayats have been requested to strictly implement the rule.
Zunheboto DC cautions on sale of tobacco
ZUNHEBOTO, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Shanavas C, IAS, in a notification, has informed all concerned that no person shall sell, offer for sale or permit sale of cigarette and any other tobacco products within a radius of one hundred yards of any educational institutions as per the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COPTA) 2003. Further, total ban has been imposed on packed tobacco products such as Pan masala, Talab, Guthaka etc. all over Zunheboto town with immediate effect. Anyone found violating the Order will be dealt as per the law, the notice cautioned.
KMC inform dog owners for free vaccine on September 28
Kohima, September 26 (MExN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed the general public that it will be jointly organizing a Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination programme on September 28 with the Chief Veterinary Office, Kohima, Department of AH & Vety Services. The programme is commemorative of the World Rabies Day. KMC Administrator Kovi Meyase has informed dog owners that vaccination booths will be set up in various localities in Kohima town in the following centers from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. High school panchayat; Bharat Scout & Guide office, Bayavü; Veterinary hospital, Kohima Pezielietsie; Super market, Tri junction Daklane; PWD panchayat near Lotha church; Taxi Junction, Chandmari; Dzüvürü panchayat near South point market; AG panchayat, Waiting shed near CRPF camp; Forest colony community hall and Indoor stadium.
LPG distributed to beneficiaries in Kiphire district
KIPHIRE, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): Under the scheme Pradhan Mantri UjjwalaYojana, LPG was distributed to two hundred beneficiaries in Kiphire district on September 26. The scheme was launched on May 2016 for women living below poverty line. The main aim of the scheme is to empower women and to prevent health hazard from smoke. Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS while distributing the LPG to the beneficiaries, appealed to them not to sell it because the scheme has been borne free of cost by the central government and added that more LPGs will be given out.
