Raj Bhavan to host outreach programme for children

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Raj Bhavan Kohima will be hosting children from various orphanages all across Nagaland from October 5 to 9. This first of its kind programme in the history of Raj Bhavan Kohima is being initiated by the Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya and his wife, Kavita Acharya, informed a press note from the PRO to the Governor. The children along with their coordinators and caretakers from far district will be staying in Raj Bhavan during their visit to the state capital. Highlights of the programme will include interaction, games, cultural programmes, magic show, etc. There are around 56 numbers of child care homes with around 586 children in the state with Dimapur district having the highest number of homes. Governor Acharya opined that such out reaching programmes must be initiated and the people must play their role in “citizen social responsibility” to make positive change in the society.  

FGAN informs

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Forestry Graduates’ Association of Nagaland (FGAN) in collaboration with the Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar will be organizing a programme for celebration of the 64th Wildlife Week at the Nagaland Zoological Park Rangapahar. The association in a press note today invited all FGAN members as well as wildlife enthusiasts to attend the program which will be held on October 6 at 10:00am.  

Parakram Parv observed at Kiphire

Kiphire, October 4 (MExN): Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles observed "Parakram Parv" on September 29. The event was conducted at Government High School, Kiphire which was attended by 300 students and teaching staff. A lecture and screening of the movie on surgical strikes followed by a weapon display was conducted. A small talk on the surgical strikes in Nagamese language was organized which was followed by a small movie on the same subject. A brief about the history and rich traditions of Assam Rifles Units was also shared to the locals.  

DBSU elects executive body

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) held its first executive general election on September 30 and elected executive body for two years tenure. Subham Nath and Rajat Ghosh were elected as President and General Secretary respectively.
