Digital Citizenship & Cyber Wellness Olympiad

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education has informed all the schools/institutions that the last date of registration for Digital Citizenship & Cyber Wellness Olympiad 2017-18 has been extended to October 30 on popular demand and request. In this regard, Smita Sarangi (IAS), Principal Director in a press release has asked all the schools/institutions authorities to let students and teachers participate by registering on the portal (https://www.learningolympiads.co.in) before the last date. The purpose of the Olympiad is to encourage and promote students to learn to be safe online, the release said, adding the Olympiad provides an opportunity for not only students but also the educators to learn and be responsible “netizens”. Workshop held at ICFAI

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): A one day workshop on ‘Computer Security Awareness and Artificial Intelligence’ was held on October 6 at ICFAI University, Nagaland. Organized by the department of IT and Mathematics of ICFAI University, the Computer Security Awareness part was conducted by Oinam Bhopen Singh, Asst. Professor, and the Artificial Intelligence part was conducted by Kamal Hussian, lecturer from the same department. The workshop dealt with desktop security, protection of files and folders with passwords recovery of data, etc, a press release from the university said. It also discussed some of the basics of AI and demonstrated its use by interacting with an AI program developed by the resource person. The objective of the workshop was to enable participants to understand the threats of computer vulnerability and security awareness of computer system, the release added. The workshop was attended by faculty members and students of the university.  

Social work conducted in Pfutsero

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): Seeing the bad road conditions at Pfutsero town, the PWD R&B Pfutsero division, under the leadership of Er. Tiatemsü Ao EE initiated a joint social work to make the roads a little better. Pfutsero town administration, colony chairmen and colleagues of all the 11 wards, GBs, youth organizations and volunteers took part in the social work.  

ESSU presidential meeting

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) has convened its second presidential meeting on October 14, 10:00 am at the residence of Ahovi Zhimo, ESSU banker, Dimapur. All the unit presidents, respective general secretaries and ESSU executive members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
