Dimapur Traffic Police notifies on traffic regulation 

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): Dimapur Traffic Police has declared the newly constructed concrete stretch road from Zion Hospital Junction to Purana Bazaar SBI Branch as “No Parking Zone” with effect from September 2. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur in a press release stated, however, single lane parking will be allowed on the unconstructed side of the cited stretch of road. Stating that the arrangement is done for smooth flow of traffic and for public convenience, it requested all concerned to abide by the new traffic regulation.

 

DC Dimapur notifies on draft list

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol has in a notification informed that the Draft List for 1 - Dimapur - I A/C, 2- Dimapur- II A/C, 3- Dimapur-III A/C, 4- Ghaspani-I A/C and 5- Ghaspani -II A/C Assembly Constituencies has been prepared and published. As per the notification, any claims/objections to the draft list should be made on or before September 6.

 

ADC Zunheboto notifies on construction permit

Zunheboto, August 28 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Administrator, Zunheboto Town Council Ajit K Ranjan in an order stated that several instances of construction of buildings and shops without due permit has come to the notice of Zunheboto Town Council. It said that such construction was not only illegal but also detrimental to planned development of the town. The ADC, Zunheboto has thus directed all such constructions without permit to stop and to apply for construction permit from the town council within five days from the issue of this order on or before August 30. Any violation of this order shall attract penalty as prescribed by the Town Council, it added.

 

DMC Dimapur directs to follow guidelines on Idol immersion

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): In pursuance of the directives issued by the Central Control Board (CPCB) with regards to Idol immersion during celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi & Durga Puja during the month of September and October every year, which lead to deterioration of water quality especially during the aforesaid months which is a matter of concern. Moa Sangtam Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council Dimapur has thus, directed all concerned stake holders to effectively follow the following guidelines for Idol immersion: Use of Eco-Friendly Idols with herbal colors or biodegradable chemical dyes, immersion of Idols only at designated idol immersion spots, prohibition of burning of solid waste at the Idols immersion areas, arrangement for construction of temporary confined ponds with necessary provisions, organization mass awareness campaign among the stakeholders etc. 

 

Senior Scientist Dr Biswas conferred India Independence Awards-2019

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): Dr Pijush Kanti Biswas, Senior Scientist and Head at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung,Nagaland has been conferred with India Independence Awards-2019 for outstanding contribution in Plant and Agricultural Sciences from International Association of Research and Development on August 18 at the International Center, Panjim, Goa.


International Association of Research and Development is an apex body that promotes and encourages commendable achievements after various stages of evaluation and verification subject to the policies framed by the Awards Committee. A press release stated the above title was conferred to Dr Biswas on the occasion of International Award Conference on Multi disciplinary Research and Latest Innovation.

 

RSA meet

Tseminyu, August 28 (MExN): The Rengma Sports Association (RSA) has convened a meeting on August 31, 11:00 am at its headquarters, Tseminyu. The RSA in a press release stated the meeting will discuss issues pertaining to forthcoming RSA sports meet 2020. It further informed all the office bearers and range executive members to attend the meeting without fail.
