Mhabemo appointed Nagaland Commissioner & Secretary
Kohima, August 31 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, in the interest of public service has transferred and posted T Mhabemo Yanthan, Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism Department as the Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor of Nagaland, with immediate effect. Yanthan shall hand over charge of Tourism Department to the Additional Secretary (Tourism).This was informed in a notification issued by Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland on August 31.
WCSU condemns alleged rape of minor girl
Wokha, August 31 (MExN): The Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) today, while extending its support to the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) for staging a silent procession against the alleged rape of a minor girl at Wokha Town .The Union has strongly condemned the "inhumane and heinous" crime. C Longshithung Lotha, President WCSU in a press release issued cautioned that the Union “will not be mere spectators when its sisters are physically/sexually exploited, within the jurisdiction by such repulsive and heartless creatures.” The WCSU further urged the concerned law enforcing authorities to thoroughly investigate the crime and book the culprit without delay, under appropriate sections of the law and award befitting punishment, in accordance with the crime committed. It also appealed to the law enforcing agency “not to grand bail to the accused under any circumstances.”
CNSA meeting
Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has convened a meeting on September 3, 11:00 am at Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) office chamber. All executive, unit president, adviser, co-opted member and former leaders are requested to attend the meeting positively.
School of Music Kohima golden jubilee
Kohima, August 31 (MExN): The School of Music Kohima is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee and awarding of Rev Dr Neiliezhü Usou Memorial Award of Excellence in Music 2019 on September 3 at 2:00 pm in RDNUMS, New Block, Old Minister’s Hill Kohima. Chief minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the occasion as the honoured guest.
Dimapur DPDB meet
Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The monthly DPDB meeting of Dimapur district for the month of September is fixed on September 6, 11:00 am at DC conference hall. DC Dimapur and Vice Chairman, DPDB Kevekha Kevin Zehol in a press release has requested all the members to attend the said meeting.
