DoT&A workshop & seminar
Kohima, September 5 (MExN): The Department of Treasuries & Accounts (DoT&A) Kohima is organizing a one-day workshop on “National Pension System (NPS)” on September 11 at the level of HODs in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts, Kohima from 11:00 am. This was informed in a press release issued by RN Yanthan, Principal Director DoT & A. It further requested all the Head of Departments (HoDs) to attend the workshop without fail and informed the HoDS to bring the officer who is dealing with the NPS. Meanwhile, the DoT&A and the Ministry of Income Tax, Guwahati is also jointly organizing a seminar on the subject “Seminar/Awareness Programme on TDS” at the level of State Treasury Officers on September 12, from 11:00 am in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts, Nagaland, Kohima. Therefore, all the Treasury Officers/Sub-Treasury Officers have been requested to attend the said seminar positively.
LOU NH-29 meeting
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Land Owners Union (LOU), NH-29 (Purana Bazaar to Chümuokedima) will hold an emergency executive meeting on September 7 at Charity Residential School Library Hall, 5th Mile Dimapur at 05:00 pm, “to discuss the crucial agendas.” This was informed in a press release issued by Kewetso Kenye, Information & Publicity Secretary LOU, NH-29. It further requested all the executive members, advisors, and office bearers to attend the said meeting without fail.
Dimapur Police apprehends two
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Police E-Patrol party at 3rd mile area, Dimapur, intercepted one motorcycle without registration number and apprehended two persons namely Jakhalu Aye (of NSCN-R) and Akato (43 yrs) on August 25. During frisking, the Dimapur Police also seized point 32 pistol - 01 no; 7.65 ammns - 25 rounds ; cash amount of Rs, 5610 ; two mobile phones and other documents from the possession of Jakhalu and cash amount of Rs 9865 and two mobile phones were recovered from the possession of Akato .In this connection a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station and investigation is on, informed a press release issued by Addl Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, Nagaland.
One arrested for filing false FIR
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Police apprehended one person Lakshmi Thapa (43), a resident of Chümuokedima on September 4, for filing a false FIR to the police regarding her missing daughter of minor age, “whom she had deliberately relocated at another place in Dimapur.” A case has been registered in Women PS for further investigation. This was informed in a press release issued by the Addl Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, Nagaland.
NNC-PB terminates one
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Naga National Council – Parent Body (NNC-PB) has terminated Vicky Sumi, Finance Secretary from his service due to his detrimental actions. A press release from MIP Cell, NNC-PB stated that Sumi misused its government fund which “is against the national ethical code/principle of NNC-PB.” It also informed all the business agencies/companies and officers not to entertain the “person with effect from September 4.”
LSU informs
Wokha, September 5 (MExN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has informed that the 2nd LSU cultural day cum literary festival will be held on September 23, at Town Hall, Wokha from 9:30 am. Wonthungo Tsopoe, Director & HOD will grace the event as the special guest. All the Schools & Colleges of Wokha district have been informed to submit the list of participants to the office of LSU during working hours or to submit a soft copy through Whatsapp at (8014821587) on or before September 14. It also informed that essay writing, recitation, spelling bee & folk fusion song (not exceeding 15-20 members) will be conducted in local dialect. “In addition to categories competitions mentioned in circular, there will be an open competition for weaving, knitting and basket making competition irrespective of all ages on the same day, where the winners will be rewarded in cash,” informed a press release issued by Thungbeni Kikon, Cultural secretary LSU. It further requested all the participants for the open competition to bring their own materials.
