National Seminar at Modern College
Kohima, November 20 (MExN): The Department of Political Science and Research Committee, Modern College will be organizing a National Seminar on the theme “Issue Centric Politics in India” on November 27 and 28 in the College. The seminar is sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)-NERO, Shillong, stated a press release from the college. The inaugural programme will commence from 10:30 am on November 27 with Professor H Srikanth, HOD, Department of Political Science, Shillong as the special invitee. Registration will start at 9:00 am. The Seminar aims to provide inter-disciplinary discourses with the objective to explore possibilities of paradigm shift from mainstream group politics to “Issue Centric Politics” in Indian political system. Interested scholars, academicians and well wishers are invited to the seminar.
NSCN (IM) UT-1 recovers vehicle
Dimapur, November 20 (MExN): The NSCN (IM), UT-1 has recovered one four wheeler vehicle – Maruti Suzuki, Swift Desire off-white color, with engine no. K12MN1750661, chassis no. MA3EJKD1S00911259. A press release from UT-1 Secretary Ghokuto Chishi has informed the rightful owner may claim by producing along with original document at the UT-1 office within 7 days from the day of report.
NGRC-1 CU annual meeting
Kohima, November 20 (MExN): Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors' Union (NGRC-1 CU) has convened an annual meeting on November 29, 2:00 pm at its Union Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat road, Kohima. Some of the main agendas are contractor's pending bill, membership and its welfare, etc. Union President Seyiekuolie in a press release has requested its member to attend the meeting without fail which will be followed with feast.
Kohima Police arrests two
Dimapur, November 20 (MExN): A team of Kohima Police on November 11 apprehended two persons claiming to be active members of NSCN (IM) for extorting money from Khikha Ruleizou Colony below North Field School, Kohima. A press release from PRO, DEF Kohima stated that the arrested persons were identified as Victor (32 years), resident of Naga Bazaar Colony, Kohima and Razuvolhou (39 years) resident of Kitsubozou Colony, Kohima. In this connection, a case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation taken up.
District Level Hindi Essay writing competition held
Kohima, November 20 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union Kohima unit organized a Hindi Essay Writing Competition at RBPS Kohima on November 8 last. The competition was organized in coordination with the DEO Kohima, funded by "Samagra Shiksha" Directorate of School Education. Out of 18 participants, Kamala of GHS PWD bagged the first position, Ruokuovolie of GHS Zhadima secured the second position, followed by Trisha Sonar of GHS PWD and Sumit Jayswal of GHS Chandmari in the third position.
