PAC meet today
Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) has convened a meeting on November 25, 9:00 am at Western Chakhesang Hoho Office, Chakhesang Colony, Dimapur. PAC in a press release has requested all the PAC members, president and secretary of all tribal and non tribal apex bodies, all frontal organizations-BAN, DUCCF, DCCI, GB Union Dimapur Sadar, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, DNSU to attend the meeting positively to discuss on the prevailing issues.
Government of Nagaland to celebrate Constitutional Day
Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland will be celebrating the Constitutional Day on November 26 at the Capital Convention Centre at 10:30 am to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to acknowledge the founding fathers of the Constitution of India. It will also commemorate the launching of year-long state-wide campaign on Constitution and Fundamental Duties. A press release stated the year 2019 marks the 70th year of its adoption and the Government of India has directed all the states Government to run awareness campaign starting from November 26, 2019 to November 26, 2020 with special emphasis on citizens’ duties including Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Constitution. The campaign is to start with functions and events on the day to be carried out throughout the year by the stakeholders department. The event will be graced by CM Chang, Minister for Justice & Law, Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of Nagaland as special guest. Senior Additional Advocate General Nagaland, Kakheto Sema will deliver speech on the Constitution. Keynote Address will be given by Temjen Toy, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and welcome address will be delivered by Khanrinla T Koza, Secretary, Justice & Law Department. The National Anthem will be sung by Kohima College, Kohima.
Free coaching for HSLC students under Bhandari sub-division
Wokha, November 24 (MExN): GHSS Bhandari will be offering free coaching to all the aspiring candidates under Bhandari sub-division, irrespective of all schools, for the upcoming HSLC (Class 10) examination 2020. A press release from Sunil Thakur, Sr Principal, GHSS Bhandari has requested all the interested candidates to register their names for free at GHSS Bhandari on or before December 10.
CSA informs on 50th anniversary souvenir
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 24 (MExN): The Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) has informed that the association will hold its 50th anniversary celebration in January 2020 and for which a souvenir committee has been set up to facilitate the history of CSA and also its present affairs. Souvenir committee in a press release has invited members of Chakhroma area willing to contribute to the 50th anniversary souvenir in the form of articles, history, poems, songs etc. “This invitation also goes out to the sports persons who have participated in state, national and international level in any discipline; you may also submit a copy of your certificate for publication in the 50th anniversary souvenir,” the release added. Recruitment bid of NSCN (IM) busted in Mon
Kohima, November 24 (MExN): A covert recruitment racket of NSCN (IM) was busted by troops of Indian Army and Assam Rifles in Mon on November 21. As per a press release from Lt Col Sumit Sharma PRO (Defence), troops of Indian Army and Assam Rifles based on specific input regarding group of youth being taken by NSCN (IM) cadres to Aopao Camp from villages of Mon district for recruitment, pursued the Bolero pick-up vehicle and intercepted it on Mon-Aboi road. Thereby it foiled a major recruitment bid, the release stated. Two NSCN (IM) cadres – Corporal Loajah and Seargent Manza were apprehended and 32 youth hailing from Laokkun, Tizit Town, Jaboka, Nokzang, Hatothi (Naginimora) and Chingphoi villages were rescued. On questioning, it was revealed that youth from local areas had been lured by various groups on the pretext of providing jobs post Naga solution. The apprehendees and the youth were handed over to Mon police Station on November 22 for further investigation, the release added.
Ex-PAN urges for early conclusion of talks
Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Ex-Parliamentarians Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) held its Executive meeting on November 21 in Dimapur. In the meeting, it conferred that with the Government of India and the Naga political negotiators already in agreement to have the solution, the Ex-PAN urged the Naga negotiators in particular, to have understanding and conclude the process of negotiations at the earliest in the interest of the Nagas as a whole.
BJP Wokha re-elects district president
Wokha, November 24 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha district held its District President and State Council Member election/selection on November 18 in the presence of Khongwang Konyak, State Election Co-in-charge. District Returning Officer, BJP Wokha District in a press release stated that all the Mandal Presidents and District Council Members reposed faith on the incumbent President, and to strengthen the party under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister, unanimously re-elected/selected Yanthungo Kikon as the District President and Renponthung Ezung as the State Council Member. Renbenthung Lotha, 37th Mandal President invoked God’s blessing during the programme.
DUCCF elects new office bearers
Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) held its general body meeting on November 16 at Forest Colony Council Hall. The general body approved the new office bearers and executive team for the term 2019-2022. DUCCF in a press release informed that the federation has inducted new office bearers for the tenure 2019-2020. The new team will be led by Tsenthungo Lotha as President, Vikholie Rio and N Meren Imchen as Vice-Presidents, Zasivikho Zakiesato as General Secretary, Kevipietsü Savino as Information & Publicity Secretary along with five other bearers.
