Dimapur traffic police issues public advisory
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): Dimapur Traffic Police has informed that Eden Charity Club has arranged a paid parking space at Christian Higher Secondary School ground from December 7 to 24 between 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. A press release from Addl Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO informed the public may make use of the allotted parking space for convenience and to avoid traffic congestion.
5th edition of eNaga summit 2019
Kohima, November 28 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology & Communication will be organizing the 5th edition of eNaga Summit 2019 at the Conference Room, RCEMPA on November 30, 9:00 am. To be held under the theme "Towards making the State of Nagaland a leader in e-Democracy and Digital Society," resource persons will be from abroad, eGovernance Academy of Estonia, officials from the Government of India, scholars, academia, entrepreneurs, facebook etc. Ambassador of Estonia to India, Katrin Kivi will be gracing the inaugural programme as special guest. Therefore, all the Departments have been requested to nominate their IT Nodal Officers to attend the workshop.
DMC informs traders/business establishments
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Administrator, Albert Ezung has informed all the traders/business establishments/shop keepers under DMC jurisdiction that the renewal of trade license for the year 2020 will commence from December 1 to February 29. Ezung in a notice has asked all the concerned traders/business establishments/shopkeepers to renew their trade license within the stipulated period to avoid late fine.
KHRU to provide free washroom to tourists
Kohima, November 28 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all concerned tourists visiting Kohima during the Hornbill festival from December 1 to 10 that the Kohima Hotels & Restaurants Union (KHRU) will provide “free washroom” to all tourists as a goodwill gesture. A press release issued by KMC administrator Kovi Meyase stated this was decided by the KMC and KHRU at a meeting held on November 25.
Longleng to conduct mass social work
Longleng, November 28 (MExN): In view of the upcoming statehood Day celebration on December 1, the office of the Longleng Town council will be conducting mass social work on November 30 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Therefore all wards chairmen, LTSU, Departments, NGOs and concerned public of Longleng town are requested to participate and clean all the major roads, wards, public places and commercial areas.
GPRN/NSCN terminates two
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): The GSO–1 (Admin) Naga Army, GPRN/NSCN in exercise of the Anti National Act enshrined in the NARRA 76 clause -111 terminated 2nd Lieutenant Panchin, Army no. 19606 and 2nd Lieutenant Abo M, Army No. 19607, both from Arunachal Region from active national service with effect from November 22. The GPRN/NSCN in a press release issued by MIP stated it shall “henceforth not bear any liabilities for any future act or activities of the said persons.”
Supply Colony Council appeals for proper enclosure of dogs
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): Office of the Supply Colony Council has appealed all the fellow residents of Supply Colony to keep domesticated dogs in proper enclosure within one’s own compound and not allow it for defection or urination in the open street/road. This appeal was made in accordance to the resolution adopted in an executive meeting held on November 25. A press release from Supply Colony Council Chairman, Tokheho Achumi said the appeal was made for safety and on hygienic ground for all. Requesting the residents to adhere to the appeal, in case of failure to co-operate, the defaulting owner of the dogs will attract heavy penalty by the Council authority, it added.
WDCC&I social work cum ‘mission operation potholes’
Wokha, November 28 (MExN): Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCC&I) will be organizing social work cum ‘mission operation potholes’ within Wokha Town on November 30 starting from 7:00 am. WDCC&I in a circular also directed the shops to be decorated and painted on or before December 5 in view of the forthcoming festive season.
Excise Mobile Squad seizes bottles of codeine based syrup
Chümoukedima, November 28 (MExN): Excise Mobile Squad duty party manning Chümoukedima Excise Check Gate detected 4800 bottles of codeine based cough syrup from a commercial pickup truck on November 27. The articles were found concealed under household items. As per a press release from Khevito S Swu Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition (MS) Nagaland, the accused A Manchen Konyak along with the vehicle and the articles were seized and brought to Excise office and handed over to higher authority for further investigation and inquiry. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and forwarded to Court. The seized articles are kept at Excise Mobile Squad Malkhana. The duty party consisted of Assistant Inspector Imonen, Head Constable Rentsamo and constables Anungla, Supong, Wati, Yongmeth, Lilanthung and Angathong.
SSPN celebrates advent Christmas
Peren, November 28 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa celebrated Advent Christmas November 23 with Sentiwapang Aier, NCS, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peren as the chief guest. The programme began with a Christmas message of reconciliation with God by Reverend Nzanbemo S Lotha followed by Christmas carol. Other popular numbers were presented by Fortissimo Band and Kumzuk from Dimapur, stated a press release from the School. DC Peren, in his speech encouraged the cadets by reminding them that Sainik School have given many great leaders to the society. He also dwelt on love, peace and humanity which he emphasized should be imbibed. Two guest artistes also performed at the event. Group Captain Prasun Basu, the Principal presented school memento to the chief guest and vote of thanks was pronounced by Henminlal, TGT.
