SDEOs informed to submit school enrolments

Kohima, June 30 (MExN): Principal Director of Education department, Smita Sarangi (IAS) has informed all the Sub-Divisional Education Officers (SDEOs) to submit the actual enrollment from Pre-Primary to Class-8 under the respective jurisdiction in both hard & soft copy, inclusive of Primary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools. The enrollment should be class-wise and school-wise with an abstract copy of the total number of class-wise enrollment indicating the requirement of MIL local textbook for different recognized Naga tribes under its jurisdiction, the Principal Director said in a notification. Last date for submission will be on or before July 31, 2018. “This has necessitated on timely release of textbooks for the next academic year,” it added.   GSKS Kohima to organize arts and poem recitation competition Kohima, June 30 (MExN): The Gorkha Sahitya Kala Sanstha (GSKS) Kohima will be celebrating the 204th birth anniversary of Aadi Kabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on July 13 at the Gorkha Public Panchayat Complex, Chandmari, Kohima. In commemoration of the event, GSKS is organizing arts and poem recitation competition on July 8 from 11:00 am at Gyanmanjeree School, Upper Chandmari, Kohima, informed a press release from Sushila Limbu, general secretary, GSKS Kohima. Interested students from Class 1 to Class 12 may contact Bikash Lama, assistant general secretary - 9436070489, Maya Rana - 8014626082, Maya Thapa - 9436608230 and Sushila Limbu - 8794952408 latest by July 6.   Kiphire holds review meeting ahead of Governor’s visit Kiphire, June 30 (MExN): Kiphire district review meeting for the Governor’s visit to the district on July 3 was held on July 29 at DC’s conference hall, Kiphire. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali Shihab (IAS) encouraged the district officers to stand firmly to their assigned duty and to work closely with the public showing good and transparent work policy. He also challenged the officers to take chance that the place is a right place to work, stated a DIPR report.   TVYO bans sale of intoxicants in its jurisdiction Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): The Tenyiphe Village Youth Organisation (TVYO) has strictly prohibited any individual, party selling or dealing with sale of medicines/drugs and other intoxicants in and around the village jurisdiction with effect from the issue of this statement. Rokosielie Viyie, president TVYO in the statement said that any individual or party who wants to sell medicine or any other products related to medicines should take prior permission or permit from the village council. Anybody caught selling illegal items and products (IMFL, ganja etc) within the village jurisdiction will be dealt with severely according to the law, it cautioned. Further, TVYO reiterated its earlier notice that “any outsiders creating disturbance and indulging in any anti-social elements in its land would not be tolerated and would be dealt severely according to the law.
