APO endorses govt’s decision to ban appointments sans sanctioned posts

Kohima, July 24 (MExN): Angami Public Organisation (APO) has endorsed the government’s decision to ban appointments sans sanctioned posts. “The initiative carries more weightage as the OM also includes criminal prosecutions against erring officials by filing FIR in the Vigilance Commission and also to stop payment of pension benefits until the criminal case is disposed off,” stated APO president, Dr. Kepelhusie Terhüja and information and publicity secretary, Neithono Sothu in a press release. APO further lauded the decision of the government for the appointment to grade IV posts, which will be filled up by the indigenous inhabitants of the respective district only. Further, APO assured the government of support for all the positive initiatives taken by it for the welfare of Naga people.  

CMO & DMC joint meeting on dengue awareness

Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The District Health Society, Dimapur under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme is organizing a joint meeting of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on dengue awareness on July 27 at Town Hall, Dimapur at 11:00 am. A press release from CMO Dimapur, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi has therefore requested all colony/ward chairmen, GBs, Naga Council Dimapur, DCCI and NGOs to attend the awareness programme for preparedness and prevention of outbreak of dengue and other vector borne diseases in and around Dimapur district.

Medical camp to be held in Kigwema

Kohima, July 24 (MExN): The Centenary Mercy Ministry of Kigwema Baptist Church in collaboration with a philanthropic medical team under the aegis of the Angami Baptist Church Council will be conducting a medical camp on July 29 at Kigwema Baptist Church premises from 12:00 noon. The medical team will consist of a good number of doctors from various medical sections, nurses and lab technicians. In regard to this, Mercy Ministry has informed the villagers, especially those who need medical attention with common ailments or diseases and other health related problems, to come and avail free check-up and other medical facilities.  

Vijay Diwas on July 26

Kohima, July 24 (MExN): Vijay Diwas will be celebrated at Captain (Late) Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, Mahavir Chakra Pheza War Memorial at Pheza Village on July 26. Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio will grace the celebration. IGAR (North) is organizing the ceremony to commemorate its brave Captain (Late) Neikezhakuo Kenguruse who was killed on duty during Kargil War in 1999.  

Sensitization on water and sanitation held in Peren Town

Peren, July 24 (MExN): Sensitization programme on water and sanitation was held on July 23 in Peren Town under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), PHED Peren. Held in three venues of the nine town wards council halls, the programme sensitized public on matters relating to water and sanitation, and the importance of building sanitary toilets in every household in the area. Resource persons were Er. V Kasheto Sema, JE, PHED Peren and IEC Consultant, DWSM, PHED, Peren Binsaniu Rentta.
