Capacity building and demo on Broccoli  Kohima, August 24 (MExN): ATMA Kohima Block conducted a capacity building and demonstration programme on broccoli cultivation at D Khel, Kohima village on August 23. The resource person, Rokotuono Phira, ATM, ATMA Kohima Block highlighted to the farmers attending the programme about the cultivation and management practices of Broccoli. This was followed by a demonstration in a plot of land to enable the farmers to get a better understanding of the techniques been discussed during the capacity building. The programme was attended by eight female farmers.   Peren District BASN elects executive members Peren, August 24(MExN): The Peren District Beauty & Aesthetic Society Nagaland (BASN) held its general meeting and resolved to function as a permanent body. The house elected new executive members for the tenure 2017-2019 with Keyizeule as president. Other officials include general secretary – Kingsalt Hegwang, info & publicity – Ngauzeulungbe.   YoCW training begins for Longleng Longleng, August 24 (MExN): The training under Year of Construction Workers (YoCW) for Longleng district began on August 21 at PBCA center. In his welcome address, Chiden Yaden, Deputy Director, Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship said the programme’s objective is to up-skill and re-skill. He urged all the participants to learn seriously. Introduction to YoCW was given by Richard Belho from Zynorique Initiatives. After the training, he said, the participants will be skilled workers and certified Assistant Mason with chances of placement. Nuklu Phom, Executive Secretary, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), gave a motivational speech. Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, Y. Denngann Avennoho Phom also spoke on how to develop and build one’s mind and hearts before one really starts building any construction.   Information on linkingInformation on linkingAadhaar with ration cards Mokokchung, August 24 (DIPR): Asst. Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Mokokchung has informed all the PHH & AAY Ration Card holders along with their Family members to submit Aadhaar Number as proof of identity to the department so as to complete the possess of Aadhaar linking with Ration Cards. A photocopy of Bank Passbook of the Head of Family is also to be submitted. Ration Card holders are asked to collect a format from the office of the Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Mokokchung and submit the same after duly filling up the form at the earliest. It also informed that the Department will not hold responsible in case of any beneficiaries being deleted for not adhering the directive.   Commissioner Taxes notifies Kohima, August 24 (DIPR): The Commissioner of Taxes in a notification stated that in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (6) of section 39 read with section 168 of the Nagaland Goods and Services Act, 2017 (4 of 2017), the Commissioner, on the recommendations of the Council, hereby extends the time limit for furnishing the return under sub-section (1) of section 39 of the said Act for the month as specified in column (2) of the Table below, within the period as specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table, namely:Month Time period for filing of  details in FORM GSTR-3July 2017 September 11 to 15, 2017August 2017 September 26 to 30, 2017This notification shall come into force with effect from August 8, 2017.   DEEHA not to collect any forms of NFG taxation Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The joint village council forum of Dubagaon, Ekarani Pathar, Eralibill, Hollohon and Aoyimti Villages (DEEHA) has resolved to reiterate its earlier commitment to ban/refrain from collecting any forms of NFG taxation from the general public. This was resolved during the held meeting on July 31 at Dubagaon village conveyed by its chairman V. Shekishe Achumi and General Secretary A. Polongnok Longkumer.   Departments told to prepare reports Kohima, August 24 (DIPR): Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Pankaj Kumar has directed all departments to prepare a brief report (with photographs) on the achievements made by the respective departments since 2013 till date and to submit it to the Commissioner & Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department (IPR) within a period of two weeks, i.e., on or before September 4. The report is to be submitted in an A4 size paper along with a soft copy.   NAYO demands enquiry Kohima, August 24 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has condemned the act of some miscreant(s) who fired firearms at Hotel Vivor in Kohima on August 21 around 10:30 pm. “The organisation had earlier appealed the individuals/public/political groups to refrain from doing anti-social activities which may harass the sentiment and emotion of the public and affect the peaceful atmosphere of its jurisdiction, however, having seen some unidentified miscreant(s) trying to provoke the already existing tense situation, demand the law enforcing agencies to enquire the case and book the culprit/s at the earliest,” stated a press release from NAYO press secretary, Kiyasetuo Kengurusie. NAYO also appealed to the law enforcing agencies to stay more vigil in order to prevent such acts in future.   OADT recovers Scooty Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The team of Operation Acceleration Dimapur Town (OADT) has recovered one Scooty bearing chassis number ME4J39DCH7000227, engine number JF39E72000273 on August 21. Any objection or suggestion to the draft list should be made on or before August 30, stated a notification from Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome.   Winners of ‘quotation’ competition Kohima, August 24 (MExN): Assistant Election Officer of Kohima, R. Toshimeren Aier has announced the winners of the Kohima district “quotation” competition held as part of the short term SVEEP action plan in June, 2017 as follows: First prize – Athelong, Driftwood boys hostel; Second prize – Sangli, Kenouzou Hill; Third prize – Onoungla, Jotsoma. The prize along with citations will be given to the winners during the National Voters’ Day celebration on January 25, 2018.   Power dept installs Aadhar basedbiometric attendance system Kohima, August 24 (DIPR): The Department of Power on August 24 commissioned Aadhar Based Biometric Attendance system at office of the Engineer-in-Chief, Kohima with the Minister of Power, Kipili Sangtam as the chief guest. Commissioner & Secretary, Power, KD Vizo while speaking on the occasion appreciated the initiative of the Power Minister and described him as the brainchild of this venture with an objective to maintain sincerity and dedication in our duties. Vizo also mentioned that the Minister himself was the first to get his name registered in the system thereby becoming an employee of the department.
