More awarded Tobacco Free Certificate
Dimapur, September 22 (DIPR): Review meeting of DLCC (Tobacco control) for the second quarter was held in Deputy Commissioner's conference Hall on September 21. Addl Deputy Commissioner, Sarah Jamir chaired the function and encouraged the institutions and members to take the campaign forward. Dr Hotokhu Chishi, State Nodal officer NTCP addressed the gathering. Various agendas were discussed and adopted. In the meeting the following institutions and hospital were awarded Tobacco Free Certificate: St. Peter School, Toulazouma; Eden Hr. Sec school, Thilixu; Community Education Centre School, Nagajan; Nagaland Police Centre School, Chumu; Govt. Middle School, Hevikhe village; St. Joseph University, Ikishe Village; and Eden Medical Centre.
One resigns from Congress
Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): The Secretary, NPCC & PCC Member 40 Bhandari A/C of Wokha, Myingthungo Mozhui has tendered his resignation from both INC Party position and membership. Citing reason for his resignation, Myingthungo stated that it was due to “loss of confidence upon state senior party leadership at the moment.”
Counselling centre set up at Kohima
Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit Kohima (DCPU) had set up a counselling centre at DCPU office Kohima for prospective Adoptive parents/older children and other adoption issues today. The counselling centre was inaugurated by Zhoi Lohe SDO (C) Dev. Kohima. All the prospective Adoptive Parents/Older Children wanting to go for adoption can avail the opportunity at the counselling centre Kohima.
Workshop on food processing
Mokokchung, September 23 (MExN): Family Counselling Centre (FCC) under Care and Support Society (C&SS) Mokokchung organised one day workshop on food processing on September 21. At the programme, resource person Nuksunginla Jamir - Assistant Technology Manager (ATMA) Mokokchung demonstrated on improved technology production on Pleurotus Mushroom Cultivation and preparation of fruit Jelly Pudding. The main objective of the workshop was to motivate housewives on skill development of food processing and for their self sustenance. All together, 14 persons participated at the workshop.
