Nagaland in Service Doctors Association meeting on March 2
Kohima, February 26 (MExN): All Nagaland in Service Doctors Association (NIDA) members are informed that an emergency GBM will be held on March 2 in the Directorate of HFW Conference hall starting from 11:00 am. In this regard all CMO, MS, District representatives and other Doctors altogether at least 5 from each district and Other units like Directorate, NHAK, Mental hospital, TB hospital, and PMTI etc to be represented.
Select Committee meeting on March 2
Kohima, February 26 (DIPR)): Additional Secretary, NLA, K. Sekhose in a press release has informed that the meeting of the Select Committee on the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Bill, 2015 has been fixed on March 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. The meeting is convened in connection with the examination of the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Bill, 2015. All the concerned Committee Members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Prog for NU faculty in social science
Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): The Department of Sociology, Nagaland University is organizing an ICSSR sponsored two weeks capacity building programme for faculty in social science from April 21 to May 4 with the objective of enhancing research and publication capabilities among social science faculty of the region. With a total intake of 25 participants only, the programme is specially targeted at faculty belonging to Schedule Tribe category. However subject to availability of seats, applicants from other categories will also be considered. Longleng DLSA conducts orientation-cum-training
Longleng, February 26 (MExN): The Longleng District Legal Services Authority conducted an orientation-cum-training for Para Legal Volunteers at DC Conference hall on February 24 with the participation of panel lawyers, PLVs and stake holders.
Longleng District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary, Victo Sema chaired the programme and highlighted the activities undertaken by Longleng DLSA.
Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, Member Secretary Nino Iralu who was the main speaker of the programme spoke on the role and responsibilities of PLVs and trafficking and sexual exploitation, child rights and poverty elevation, protection and enforcement of tribal rights and new schemes of NSLSA 2015.
Japhet Woch SDO(C)Hq spoke on the importance of legal awareness and also shared the experience of the administration works taken up in the district. Khamba shared his experience as PLV. Resource persons Victo Sema, Secretary DLSA Longleng spoke on the topic Lok Adalat and victim compensation scheme 2012 while Thiba Phom and Mane Phom, Panel Lawyers spoke on the topics children and women rights, consumer rights/RTI respectively.
