A press release from YTC said that the Chief Minister has also been approached several times over the matter and he assured for early construction of the bridge from any available financial source. The fund for the construction was earmarked and allocated beside the finalization and completion of every technical aspect by the department concerned, YTC stated. “However, despite of the verbal and written representations and corresponding assurances and resultant finalization of technical and all other official norms, the bridge is still neglected for nearly two years.” YTC highlighted that the bridge is the only lifeline connecting the people of Chessore and Shamator sub-divisions in Tuensang. Therefore, for the welfare of the 2 sub-divisions and in the interest of maintaining the promises alive, YTC has appealed to the State Government for early construction of the bridge before the rainy season takes its toll.
