Power cut in Dimapur on July 16 Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): Electrical Consumers under Dimapur Electrical Division have been informed that the power supply will be interrupted from 5am to 10am on July 16 on account of jungle cutting and maintenance work. In this connection, a press release from the Executive Engineer, Dimapur Electrical Division has requested all ward chairmen, village council, GBs and consumers to extend cooperation in cutting down the trees obstructing the Transmission Line and Distribution Line within their areas.   Govt polytechnic new class room Kohima, July 14 (MExN): A new class room of Government Polytechnic Kohima will be inaugurated on July 16 at 11:00 AM. Parliamentary secretary for higher & technical education Deo Nukhu will grace the occasion as the chief guest.  

KMC direct  retailers Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) informed all the traders within KMC jurisdiction that all package commodities, particularly the motor parts sellers are to sale their goods at the printed label with “MRP tag” (Minimum Retail Price) intact. Tampering of labels shall be penalized as per the provision of the Act, according to a release receive here. However, for business promotion the traders are at the liberty to sale below the MRP. The KMC also asked the local vegetable vendors to maintain a uniform price for local products. They have also been directed to sell their goods in measurable system i.e. in grams, kgs or liters.   Medical camp at Molen village Phek, July 14 (MExN): 46 Assam Rifles under the ageis of HQ 5 Sect Assam Rifles organized a free medical camp on July 8 at Molen village in Phek district. A total of 153 patients were examined by the Medical Officer for various illnesses and were given free medicines. First aid kit for emergency was also handed over to the village council chairman.   NERP training held for supervisors Wokha, July 14 (DIPR): Training on National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) for supervisors was held in Wokha on July 12 at DC conference hall, Wokha. SDO (C) Wokha, Mhomo Tungoe encouraged all the supervisors to be sincere and diligent in executing their work as the NERP exercise is nearing completion. Training on the role and duties for supervisors was given by AEO Wokha, Toshimongba Longchar. The AEO informed that special camp for addition, correction, deletion and transposition will be held in all the polling stations on July 17 by BLOs under the supervision of the supervisors. The meeting was also attended by ADC Thavaseelan (IAS), SDO (C) Nchumbemo, and EAC HQ Athrong.   Drug abuse awareness seminar Pfutsero, July 14 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles conducted drug abuse awareness seminar at Chakhesang Mission Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero on July 11. A lecture on drug abuse awareness was shared by Major Rahul of D- coy of 9 AR, informed a press release received here. The programme was attended by more than 300 students, 20 staff, and principal of the school, Thekhro Rova. Students were educated about the harmful effects of drugs, measures to eradicate drug abuse and the responsibilities of teachers and parents. Major Rahul also gave lecture on career opportunities in armed forces to Class 11 and 12 students.   32 AR apprehends alleged arms peddler Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): An alleged arms peddler was arrested after the troops of 32 Assam Rifles along with police representative, based on specific input, conducted a search operation general area of Tenyiphe Village on July 12. A Point 22 Rifle (Country made) with magazine and two live rounds of Point 22 Rifle were recovered suspected peddler identified as one  Puduho (33 Years), a resident of Tenyiphe village, Dimapur, an AR press note informed. He was later handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation along with the recovered items, it added.
