Kidima Catholic Community sales day on August 4 Kohima, August 1 (MExN): Kidima Catholic Community of St Francis Xavier’s Church of Vegetable Village will organize Sales Day on August 4below Police Headquarters (PHqs) Office Kohima. The local products from the village of organic vegetables would be sold. Vegetables like allium chinesis (khuvie), banana and other fruits, , aquatic such as snail, crab, bee, honey, oak tree worm (lonyü) with varieties including grass, local fresh pork.   According to the organizing committee of sales day has informed for raise of fund in aid of new church building. Scholarship for students belonging to minority community Kohima, August 1 (MExN): The Sub-divisional Education Officer (SDEO) Orenponi Lotha has informed all students belonging to minority community -Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain pursuing studies both in Government & Private Schools from Class 1 to X who secured 50% and above in the previous final examination and whose parent annual income does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh, that they can apply for Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the year 2016-17 (Both Fresh and Renewal) through National Scholarship web portal (NSP 2.0) under URL www.scholarship.gov.in. The last date of online submission has been extended till August 31. A submission of aadhaar number seeded with Bank Account is made mandatory. Guideline/procedure for online uploading can be obtained from the office of the SDEO Tseminyu.   Chief Minister extends Tsüngremmong greetings Kohima, August 1 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to all the people of Ao community on Tsüngremmong festival. “Every Naga festival has its own significance and Tsüngremmong festival signifies the pre harvest celebration seeking God’s blessing for bountiful and bumper harvest,” the CM stated in a message issued to the media by Media Cell, CMO. The Chief Minister wished that God will bestow bumper harvest of crops and also prayed for the wellbeing and prosperity of all the people of the State.   YAA offers condolences Tuensang, August 1 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) has expressed shock at the sudden demise of TM Susang, former YAA leader on August 1 at his native Shamator village. The students’ organization remembered the deceased as one among the leaders who had chosen the right path and played a vital role for the betterment of Yimchungrü society. Susang served as YAA Deputy Speaker (2009-11) and Vice-President (2011-14), informed a condolence message from YAA Acting President, T. Solumba and General Secretary, L. Akhang. Besides serving the students’ organizations in various capacities, he also served as the executive member of Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), it added. Stating that with his demise, the Yimchungers have lost a great personality, the YAA saluted his works, deeds and sacrifices. The YAA further expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.   PGSU Meriema Campus changesnomenclature to NUSU (KC) Kohima, August 1 (MExN): The Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU) Kohima Campus, Meriema of Nagaland University, with the permission of the Administration under the Pro Vice Chancellor, has changed its nomenclature to ‘Nagaland University Students’ Union, Kohima Campus’ or NUSU(KC). This change came into effect from July 29, 2016, informed Thongo Konyak, President and Imkongmenla Longkumer, General Secretary of the union.
