
AR apprehends arms peddler
Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): Troops of 37 Assam Rifles has apprehended one arms peddler identified as H Hukato Laboh (34) of Agiqami village. During the search, one .22 pistol, one .32 pistol alongwith magazines were recovered on him, stated a press release. The apprehended individual has been handed over to Nagaland Police at Diphupar Police Station, it added.

Pughoboto, January 22 (MExN): The department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Pughoboto sub-division has started its annual vaccination programme for livestock and poultry. The programme started on January 7 in Pughoboto town and Mishilimi village led by team leader Dr. Tekasangba VAS (G) with field staff. Therefore, animals owners/farmers have been requested to co-operate and avail the opportunity. However, a press release stated that due to shortage of man power and certain difficult factors, immediate coverage of the whole villages of the sub-division might take little longer period of time. Hence, at instances of suspected sickness or outbreak, if detected, farmers/owners have been requested to immediately inform the nearest VOP in charge/authority concerned.
Rengma Hoho mourns
Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): Rengma Hoho has mourned the sudden death of Gwashani Tep, class-I contractor, on January 15, 2014. In a condolence message, Rengma Hoho president Sawathung Kez Seb remembered the deceased as a man of principle, strong determination and dedicated leader in the society. Expressing sadness over the death, the Rengma Hoho further expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.

rape victim’s age
Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): Tikhir Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has clarified that the age of the January 12 gang rape victim is 15, according to her official documents, and not 18 as reported in local newspapers. In a press release appended by its president Apollo and general secretary Peter Limti, TSUD also strongly urged the authority concerned to publish photos of the three accused in local newspapers. Further, it appealed the law enforcing agency not to grant bail to the accused at any cost, while expressing gratitude to the law agency for booking the accused at the right time.
