
9th Kohima ACCC holds meeting
KOHIMA, MARCH 26 (MExN): The 9th Kohima town ACCC held its meeting on March 26 and agreed to adopt various resolutions. A press note from the 9th ACCC Kohima town President, Abalie Medose informed that the house resolved to “intensify distribution of book-let 11 year of NPF misrule by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.” The house facilitated the new PCC members and “re-dedicated to facilitate the down trodden people keeping in mind the Congress principle.” It further committed “to root-out the corruption.” The meeting also adopted to “bring charges in line with the Naga Society.” It further appealed for the electorate to vote for Congress candidate KV Pusa for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state.

NEEPCO grants assistance to Naga artists
DIMAPUR, MARCH 26 (MExN): The North Eastern Electrical Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), a Government of India Enterprise based at Shillong, Meghalaya, has granted financial assistance of Rs 100000 each for promotion of art, music, literature, writer and sport talents in Nagaland. A press note from the Director of Art and Culture, Nagaland, Vevo Chakhesang informed that the selected beneficiaries are: Ankali (Athletic), Seyievilie Angami (Taekwondo), Dr Hosheto Y. Chisi (Author), Rügotsono Iralu (Writer), Vineizotuo Tase (Visual Art) and Neilhoumenuo Noudi (Music). The cheques have been presented to the selected candidates by Vevo Chakhesang, Director, Art & Culture and Kelei Zeliang, Director, Youth Resources & Sports, at the Directorate of Art & Culture, Kohima on March 26. It was done in the presence of Basant Kumar Tigga, Sr. Manager (HR) DHEP, NEEPCO Ltd. Doyang.
NPF Minority Cell gets full-fledged status
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) Minority Cell has been given full-fledged status at NPF CEC meeting held in March. A press release issued by NPF Minority Cell general secretary, Mahendra Thousan stated that the recognition reflects the deepest concern of Naga People’s Front and its leadership, on issues regarding linguistic minority populace of Nagaland. To cater to the less privileged section of the society, the note said, NPF Minority Cell will operate in “untouched” districts of the state to strengthen the party as well as minority community of Nagaland. Bishnu Bhattacharjee, President Minority cell, has urged “the linguistic minority citizens of the state to join hands with the NPF and strengthen the party under its leadership to build bondage of trust and brotherhood with respect for each other for mutual co-existence, tranquility and harmony.” Meanwhile, the Minority Cell lauded the party President Dr Shurhozelie, Secretary General K G Kenye, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Ministerial-in-charge of Minority Cell Nuklutoshi and leaders of NPF (central and units) for the recognition.
DEO sets up election banner in Dmp
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): A signature campaign on clean election initiated by the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Dimapur started on March 26. A banner was set up which read: “I will vote without fail, I won’t vote for money or any inducement, I will vote without fear or favour, I will vote for a better tomorrow.” The initiative gas been taken by the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Dimapur. The public have been informed to join the campaign by appending their signature on the banner, which are placed at the Dimapur city tower point as a voters pledge for a clean, peaceful and fair election 2014.
