DC Kohima cautions hostels 

Kohima, May 4 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Task Force, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has ordered the closure of all hostels in an order dated April 29. However, it was brought to the notice that some hostels are still operating despite the order. Therefore, the DC has warned any person found violating the order to be penalised as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and instructed all the concerned to comply with immediate effect.

DMC informs 

Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed the owners of hand cart, cycle rickshaw, sugarcane juicer, chat trolley, fast food trolley, ice cream trolley, bicycle and cycle rickshaw driving license holder that renewal of DMC registration certificate/license for the year 2021 is extended till May 31. DMC administrator, Albert Ezung has therefore, asked all concerned to renew their respective certificate/license within the stipulated period without fail. 

Houses sealed in Yakshu village

Mon, May 4 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, SDO (C) Angjangyang, Yanithung N Ngullie, NCS on May 3 ordered the sealing of rented  house located between: East-School, West-a house, North-Main Road and South-Jungle at Changphang Morung, Yakshu village, Mon till further orders. The SDO (C) stated that any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable.

NSCN (R) conveys Miu festival greeting

Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has conveyed greetings on the occasion of ‘Miu’ festival of the Khiamniungan community which falls on May 5. A press release issued by MIP NSCN/GPRN (R) said that Miu festival is celebrated during the time of sowing to offer prayers for good crop and harvest. The other purpose of the Miu festival is to build and reinforce relations between a maternal uncle and his nephews and nieces. The maternal uncle offers prayers for granting prosperity and power over enemies to his nephews and nieces. “Just like this festival signifies, may prosperity, strength and good health prevail to our Khiamniungan brothers and sisters, so as to enable them to continue to strengthen the bond of oneness and love amongst Naga families,” it added. 

 NSCN (IM) condoles demise of tatar 

Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the untimely demise of Rhanbenthung Ovung, Tatar of NSCN (IM) on May 3 after a prolonged illness. Hailing from Hankvu village under Lotha Region, late Ovung enrolled in the Naga national service in 2005. He served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise, a condolence message from the MIP NSCN (IM) stated. “For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifice for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all,” it stated. They also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and also prayed for his soul to rest in peace. 
 
Restrictions imposed in Mokokchung 

Mokokchung, May 4 (MExN): In pursuance of Government of Nagaland, Home Department (NSDMA) order, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has ordered to close all places of mass gathering in Mokokchung district including religious places, except for solemnization of weddings with prior permission of the DC limited up to 50 persons. Also the entry of public visitors to the office of the DC, Mokokchung will be restricted with immediate effect except for cases relating to law and order and of essential nature.
