
TWUN demands stringent action
Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Tenyimia Women Union of Nagaland (TWUN) has condemned the February 9th incident where a woman was allegedly killed by her husband. The Union has called on the law enforcement agencies and concerned authorities to take stringent action and hold him fully accountable for his actions in accordance with the law. Furthermore, TWUN also urged the authorities to ensure that this case is prioritized and handled with the utmost seriousness, ensuring that justice is not delayed. “It is time for the law enforcement agencies, local leaders, and society at large to come together to protect the rights and safety of women, and to take tangible steps in eliminating such violence from our communities. The time for change is now, and we will not rest until justice is served,” it added.
Thilixu Village Council clarifies
Chomoükedima, February 19 (MExN): The Thilixu Village Council (TVC) and GBs have clarified that the person involved in an unfortunate February 9th murder incident which took place at Swu Apartment, Thilixu village is “not a permanent or temporary resident of Thilixu village.” Condemning the incident, TVC Chairman, Vitoho Y Zhimomi stated that “such person has no place to live in the civilized society and should be condemned by all sensible persons and also deserve highest punishment.” The village council also appealed the investigation agency to meticulously investigate the case and enable the court of law to award highest punishment to the culprit. Further, it also cautioned that “in the future if any person whether permanent or outsiders committing such heinous offence within our village jurisdiction the village council shall take strong action.”
NCSU emergency meeting on Feb 26
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors' & Suppliers' Union (NCSU) Head Office Kohima has convened an emergency meeting on February 26 at NCSU conference Hall, Kohima at 12:00 noon. The meeting will discuss matter relating to various issues like R.T.I report PMGSY-III NPWD, Samagra Education, Tribal Affairs PMAAGY, Tourism Department. Stating this in a release, NCSU Vice President KL Setuo Rhutsa and Secretary N Tali Sangtam informed all the NCSU Executive members Action Committee, Advisors, Legal Cell, RTI Cell and NCSU District Unit Officials to attend the said meeting positively.
Nagaland DoSE informs
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): The Department of School Education, Nagaland has informed to all concerned that the application formats for recognition, renewal of recognition and upgradation of permitted private schools (primary and upper primary) and recognition format for permitted pre-schools have been uploaded on the Department's Website https://education.nagaland.gov.in. The formats shall be available from the date of issue of this notification till March 15. Any school wanting to apply can download the required format and submit the same to the department within the stipulated time.
GPRN/NSCN-U mourns
Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The office of the Union Territory (U/T) GPRN/NSCN-U has mourned the demise of late Lovito Shohe, Razou Peyu of U/T, who has joined the Naga National Movement on November 9, 2017. A press release received here stated that Shohe served the Naga Nation with utmost sincerity and dedication. His selfless contributions for the cause of the Naga shall always be remembered and will be recorded in the pages of Naga History. Further, it conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Free health camp at New Nkio on February 23
Jalukie, February 19 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Jalukie Sub-division Branch along with Peren Branch will be conducting a free health camp at New Nkio on February 23 as a ‘Combined Humanitarian Activity’ in collaboration with Viketuno Rio as sponsor of the camp. Various medical specialists consisting of Gynecologist, General Medicine, Ophthalmologist, Emergency Medicine and AYUSH doctor will be available along with supporting staffs. There will be a host of free testing facilities with free medicines along with follow up activities for those who need further treatment, stated a press release received here. Laboratory tests such as Blood grouping, Hemoglobin, Blood sugar, Typhoid, Hepatitis, ICTC, TB, Malaria and Urine Dipstick will be provided free of cost. Individuals from New Nkio and surrounding villages with illness related to women, Diabetes, BP, Eye problems and chronic diseases besides common illnesses may avail the facilities, it stated.
Assessment camp on ADIP & RVY in Niuland
Niuland, February 19 (MExN): Niuland District Administration in coordination with the Health & Family Welfare Department, Social Welfare Department & Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) organised an assessment camp under Niuland Sardar area at CHC, Niuland on February 18. The camp was held under Assistance to the Person with Disability (ADIP) schemes and Rashtriya Vayoshree Yojana (RVY). The objective of the assessment camp is to help needy senior citizens (age 60 years and above) and Assistance to the person with Disability (ADIP) thereafter, equipment such as tricycle, wheelchair, crunch, walking stick and hearing aid will be provided free of cost to the needy and deserving citizens. Altogether 36 beneficiary assessment was done during the camp. The programme was held under the supervision of EAC Niuland, Vitoka Yepthomi.

Meluri, February 19 (MExN): The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANNSEA) Meluri Unit was established during its general meeting convened at Council Hall Meluri Village on February 17. The first executives of the CANSSEA Unit Meluri District for the Tenure 2025 to 2028 includes: Rhutsomu Pfithu as President; Diwatho Katiry- Vice President; T Thutu Thurr-General Secretary; Mühietho Nyuthe- Joint Secretary; Pharhetho Nyusou- Press & Information Secretary; L Zhierutho Po, Treasurer; Advisor, Siewatho S Nyusou, Press & Info Secretary CANSSEA HQ Kohima. The Association has selected five area representatives: S Thepeng - ARPO; Yichuru Pfithu - KAPO Khunyuovo Ngouri –MAPO; Benjamin – PAPO; Thunyusü Jorror – PPO.
