
NNC/FGN mourns
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Lt. Tsubemo Ngullie, a prominent leader from Tsungiki Village under the Lotha region. Ngullie, who served as the President of the Lotha Regional Council, NNC, since 2014, passed away on February 8. In a statement, the NNC/FGN described Ngullie as a distinguished and dedicated leader who contributed selflessly to the national cause. "His exemplary leadership, steadfast dedication, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him," the statement read. The organization extended its condolences to Ngullie’s family, friends, and the community of Tsungiki, praying for strength and solace during this time of grief.
KDVA meeting today
Kohima, February 9 (MExN): The Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) will hold its meeting on February 10 at 3: 00 PM at the Keneiwelie’s Residence, Midland, Kohima. The meeting will discuss KDVA Tournament 2025 and other matters. KDVA members have been requested to attend the same.
NNC/GDRN (NA) Yimkhiung region clarifies
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9 (MExN): The Chairman of the Yimkhiung region of the NNC/GDRN (NA), I Azheto Yimkhiung has stated that appointment of new Yimkhiung Region Chairman Y Mukihba on February 5 is “unconstitutional,” and was done by a “few (three) ousted group of renegades without any consultation with regional authorities under Yimkhiung region and also without the knowledge of Central higher Authorities.” The press release stated “it is very unfortunate, that duo stooped down so low for their personal gains and to disrupt the legitimate and stable government.” “The unauthorised appointment of Mukihba stands null and void. We the Yimkhiung Region are intact with all the rank and files both in Naga Army and Civil set up,” it clarified. Further it expressed “unanimous support to NNC/GDRN (N-A) President Kiumukam Yimkhiung and the NNPGs (Working Committee) led by Convener N. Kitovi Zhimomi and the historic Agreed Position signed on November 17, 2017.
ZLSU urges uninterrupted power supply during exams
Peren, February 9 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union (ZLSU) has urged the Power Department and concerned authorities to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the upcoming board examinations, emphasizing that stable power is crucial for students preparing for their High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams. With the examinations set to begin on February 11 and 12, the union stressed that power disruptions could hinder students’ studies and increase stress levels. It also appealed to the public to refrain from activities that could cause disturbances, such as bandhs, strikes, or excessive noise, and encouraged responsible electricity usage during this period. Additionally, ZLSU called on parents, teachers, and invigilators to foster a supportive and stress-free environment for students. While extending its best wishes, the union commended the students' dedication and perseverance, urging them to remain focused and give their best efforts in the exams.
