
WSKH appeals to State govt on Balijan eviction incident
Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has appealed to the Nagaland state government to look into the hardship faced by “our brothers” living in Balijan area. The WSKH in a press release issued by its president Vihuto Yeptho and General Secretary Kawato X Aye stated that “the tribal people have been residing there peacefully for the past 40-50 years with proper land document purchased from the Karbi people, the tribal people have not encroached or forcefully occupied Assam land.” Therefore, the hoho has urged the state government to take necessary steps with the Assam government for early settlement. It also urged the government to provide assistance to the effected “tribal families” at the earliest.
Doulos Theological College lays foundation for ‘multi-utility building’
Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Doulos Theological College, Dimapur organised a programme for the foundation stone laying of ‘multi-utility building’ at College Campus on February 7. The Foundation Stone was inaugurated by Imnatiba MLA, Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The programme was chaired by Lichumlo M Odyuo, Academic Dean, invocation by Phungnyu Phom Asst Prof and welcome note by Dr Onen Jamir, Founder & President of the college. Students presented the college anthem and vote of thanks was delivered by Mefutiba, Board member. The programme concluded with prayer by Rev Dr Nuklu Longkumer, Principal.
