CL John mourns Chingshom Konyak’s demise

Mon, January 30 (MExN): C L John, MLA of the 45 Tehok AC has mourned the demise of Chingshom Konyak, (Retd) Deputy Commandant, VG on January 29. Late Chingshom was a bonafide citizen as well as competent uniformed officer of Tehok under Mon district, who was the first graduate and considered as one of the pioneer and sociable personality of Tehok area in particular, the MLA stated. During his entire span of life, he was proved, undoubtedly as a sincere, hardworking and down to earth person always ready to lend helping hand, he said, adding that the vacuum caused by his demise would be difficult to fill for the Tehok and Konyak Community. He also conveyed condolences to the family members and prayed for late Chingshom to rest in peace.

Dy CM condoles

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM) Y Patton has condoled the demise of Merithung Odyuo, retired District Sports Officer, who passed away at Wokha Town after a prolonged illness at the age of 83 years. Patton recalled late Odyuo as a keen sportsman and a sincere officer, who played a vital role in the upliftment of sports and games. In his death, Englan range and the Lothas have lost an elderly gentleman of vast experience, the Dy CM said while extending condolences to the bereaved family. He also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NSCN (IM) mourns demise of member

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Saturday expressed grief at the demise of Wango Renlee, Joint Secretary, Eitangiter Office, NSCN/GPRN from Unopat village under Khurmi Region. Renlee who passed away on January 30 enrolled in the Naga national service on the October 10, 2004 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise, the NSCN (IM) stated in a press release issued by its MIP. Adding that the void created by his demise would be difficult to fill, the NSCN (IM) also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

TL Semdok Phom mourned

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN):  Nagaland Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom has mourned the demise of Er TL Semdok Phom, who passed away on January 29, after a prolonged illness.  In a condolence message on Friday, the minister stated that late Semdok had contributed immensely for the growth and upliftment of the Phom community and Nagas in general as a sound technocrat, a politician and a great leader. Remembering late Semdok as a man of utmost integrity, unflinching courage, and an influencer who has left an excellent and lasting legacy, the minister conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in peace. 

NLA Speaker re-convenes BAC meeting

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), has re-convened the BAC meeting on February 2 at 11:00 am in the Committee Room, Assembly Secretariat. The BAC meeting, originally scheduled on January 29, was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. However, It has been re-convened to finalize the Provisional Programme for the Seventh Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.  All members of the BAC have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled.

Evidence meeting of Tourism dept on February 1

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Dr P J Antony, Commissioner & Secretary of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly has informed that an Evidence Meeting with the Departmental Representatives of Tourism has been fixed for February 1 in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat at 11:00 am.  All the members of the Estimates Committee have been requested to attend the meeting.
