DMC bans all single use plastic products

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed business establishments/shopkeepers/traders that all single use plastic products shall be totally banned in DMC jurisdiction with immediate effect. “Failure to comply with this order shall invite penalty of Rs 2000 and even lead to cancellation of license,” Albert Ezung, Administrator, DMC added in the notice. 

Peren: Total closure of schools and colleges on March 22

Peren, March 17 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has called for total closure of schools and colleges under Peren district on March 22, exempting those students writing their examinations. The closure has been called as a mark of respect to the ‘three brothers who were mercilessly murdered on March 22, 2021 at Lamhainamdi village.” ZSUN, President, Kingsalt Hegwang and General Secretary, Sanlakbo Namdau in a press release said that 1st Martyrs’ Day will be observed on March 22 ‘to express solidarity with the bereaved families and with the people.’ The union has directed all the schools and colleges under Peren District to strictly adhere to this notification. 

Social work on March 19 

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): The Chakhesang Colony Council in collaboration with Chakhesang Baptist Church Dimapur will be organizing a social work on March 19 from 6:00 am to 8:00 am within Ward No. 1, Dimapur (Chakhesang colony- AH road/Khermahal point/City tower/Nyamo Lotha road/Deluxe point). The council has requested all citizens and business establishments to take part in the social work without fail.

DC Chümoukedima informs on selection trial 

Chümoukedima, March 17 (MExN): All aspirant footballers under Chümoukedima district are informed that there will be a selection trial of Chümoukedima team conducted by District Administration and Chümoukedima Football Club on March 21 from 10:00 AM at Chümoukedima local ground. The trail will be for the upcoming Dr T Ao Inter District Trophy in Mokokchung District from April 18 to 28. This was informed by Abhinav Shivam, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima.

The 78 Bn CRPF under Civic Action Program constructed a bus waiting shed in Mima Village, Kohima. It was formally handed over to the village council of Mima by WR Josuah, Commandant, 78 Bn CRPF on March 17.
