
AR seizes weapons in Moreh
Moreh, May 3 (MExN): Moreh Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) under the aegis of Spear Corps seized weapon, ammunition and grenades from a house in Zoujang forest area, Moreh on May 1. In a press release, Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, PRO (Def) Kohima said that “based on a specific intelligence, Security forces launched an operation in general area Zoujang forest area.” The suspected abandoned house was searched, resulting in recovery of one assault Rifle with one Magazine and 19 live rounds of AK and two Chinese hand Grenades, it informed. The seized stores have been handed over to Moreh Police Station for further action, it stated.
DC Dimapur convenes DDMA meeting
Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DDMA, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has informed all the members of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dimapur that the 1st quarterly meeting has been convened to review monsoon preparedness activities and also to review COVID-19 containment and management activities, to be held at DC conference hall Dimapur on May 5 at 12:00 noon. All the members have been requested to come prepared with their respective departmental action plan and attend the meeting without fail.
DC Kohima notifies on public interview
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS has issued an order stating that in order to combat the rapid surge in COVID-19, public interview of essential nature will be allowed from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm only on all working days, except Wednesdays where there will be strictly no public interview at the Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima. The order was issued in continuation to the office order dated April 19, the DC Kohima stated.
Medical board postponed
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The medical board for confirmation of service scheduled from May 5 to 7 has been postponed till further in view of the declaration of Kohima Municipal and New Capital complex as containment zone. This for information to all concern departments scheduled for the medical board, Dr Vezokholu Theyo, Chief Medical Officer, Kohima informed in a press note.
Two ULFA (I) cadres surrender in Tsg
Tuensang, May 3 (MExN): Two cadres of ULFA (I) in Tuensang district surrendered following the “concerted efforts of Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North).” An update from PRO, HQ IGAR (N) stated that “the surrender of the cadres will hopefully motivate other cadres of the region to rejoin the mainstream.”
UNPG NNC/PB terminates two
Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): The UNPG NNC/PB has issued termination orders of Kejinkum Dy Kilonser and Brig. Throngkiuba of 1st battalion Yimchunger region under Tuensang district. As per a press note issued by VN Zhimomi Secretary, MIP UNPG NNC/PB they have been “found guilty of insubordination and dereliction of duties which does not merit continuation” and are therefore, “terminated from active national service for violation of Principles and Ahza of the government.” The termination order is issued by SK Zhimomi, vice president, UNPG NNC/PB and Toshi Wallin,g co-convenor NNPG and General Secretary UNPG NNC/PB on April 20.
Houses, hospital in Mon town, Naginimora, Tizit sealed
Mon, May 3 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, DC Mon Thavaseelan K IAS on May 1 ordered the sealing of residence below Committee Gate, Tamong Village, next to Yokwang residence and another house in Thamnan Ward, Mon town till further order. In another notification, the DC ordered the sealing of Rapha Hospital, Mon Town for 48 hours. The ADC Naginimora, Vineet Kumar, IAS on May 1 ordered the sealing of two houses in Police Colony, Ward No. 8 and another house in Bazar Colony, Ward No. 8 till further order.
In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ADC Tizit, Pakon Phom, NCS on April 29 ordered the sealing of a house in Forest Ward, Tizit Town till further order. Any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable.

NSEE postponed
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): Nagaland Board of School Education has informed that the Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE) 2021 which was tentatively scheduled to be conducted on May 20 has been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic situation in the State. The new examination date and other details shall be notified at a later date.
APC directs officers to
be in place of postings
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) has informed that in regard to the meeting held with the Agri & Allied Departments, the Administrative Heads and Heads of Department of the Agri & Allied have been requested to issue necessary orders to the district officers/sub-division officers to be stationed in their place of postings. In the event of any natural calamities such as drought/hailstorms, crop infesting pests and occurrences of livestock diseases etc., the concerned Departments are requested to compile the District wise, sub division, village etc. and submit the same to the concerned authorities. All the AHOD/HOD of the Agri & Allied Departments have been requested to closely monitor and co-ordinate with the District officers during this trying and difficult times.
