Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur on Saturday informed that the Dimapur District Task Force helpline has been set-up with the following contact numbers:

In this regard, the general public has been advised to contact the given numbers for any COVID-19 related queries/emergencies.
GBUD, DUCCF writes to Food & Civil Supplies dept
Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): In joint press release the GB Union Dimapur (GBUD) and Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) on Saturday requested the Food & Civil Supplies Department (FCSD) to allow the Priority House Hold (PHH) scheme card holders to receive monthly rice quota for the family without the usual electronic thumb impression system.
The organizations cited the COVID-19 surge in Dimapur as the reason for their request and said that the procedure will greatly ease and avoid huge crowd gathering thereby maintaining social distance and contain the spread of the virus. It also requested the concerned department authority to include the GBs/Chairmen of the colonies in the rice distribution to monitor and to enable better distribution system for the general public.
The two organizations also appreciated the department for timely distribution of rice to the card holders and assured their assistance to the department as and when needed.
House sealed in Tizit
Tizit, May 8 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ADC Tizit, Pakon Phom on May 6 ordered the sealing of a house adjacent to N.H Hotel, Police Ward, Tizit Town till further order. Any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable, the ADC’s order stated.
NSCN/GPRN conveys Mother’s day greetings
Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): NSCN/GPRN President Gen (Retd) Niki Sumi on Saturday conveyed Mother’s day greetings and stated that “All life created by God is sacred and beautiful but only mothers are divinely blessed with the miracle of creation through childbirth.” Terming mothers as the ‘basic building block’ of any nation, he also said that “A Nation's greatest asset is a loving and wise mother, nurturing and shaping the children's future in the right direction and thereby, a Nation's future lies in the hands of our mothers.” “Therefore, rightly so the nations proclaim themselves as motherland, as without a mother, there can be no nations,” he added. Words would not do justice to a mother's selfless sacrifice and a mother's love is the only love that comes close to God's love, the NSCN/GPRN President stated. “Not only on this day but on all days, May the good Lord bestow all His blessings on all mothers,” he added.
CPO, PTPF condemn kidnapping
Kohima, May 8 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) condemned the alleged kidnapping of an employee of Madhucom projects Ltd. employee and extortion by “a group of NSCN (K-Khango) and NNC/Non-Accordist” at Phek town.
“CPO stands firm and shall vehemently oppose such anti social element and will not allow to hamper the mega project going on in the district,” the CPO asserted in its press release.
Further, CPO extended its support and appreciated the district police special force for their commendable job in promptly taking into action by arresting all those persons involved.
In a separate statement, The Phek Town Public Forum (PTPF) also welcomed the timely intervention and prompt action of DEF Phek for arresting the kidnappers Vevolhu Khusoh and Mutuku Vero who allegedly abducted an employee of Madhucon Project Ltd on April 26 for ransom at Phek Town. Kidnapping for ransom is a culture alien to the Naga way of life and has no place in this civilized society, the PTPF stated in its press release. The Forum condemned the act and requested the law enforcement agency to punish the perpetrators as deemed fit. It also extended ‘fullest support’ in the fight to curb anti social elements as well as in the combat against COVID -19.
One arrested with arms in Zbto
Zunheboto, May 8 (MExN): One person was reportedly apprehended with by security forces and police at Daily Market, Zunheboto Town on May 6. According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), based on a specific input, “Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehended an active cadre of NSCN (K2) and recovered one 7.65mm Pistol with Magazine and five live rounds of 7.65mm” from Daily Market, Zunheboto Town. The apprehended individual along with recovered items has been handed over to Zunheboto Police Station for further investigation, the release informed.
