Chümukedima Town Council informs on trade license 

Chümoukedima, January 22 (MExN): The Chümukedima Town Council has informed all the business establishments under its jurisdiction that the renewal of trade license and fresh registration of firms will be done from February 7 till April 8, 2022. The EAC Chümoukedima and CTC Administrator Seyiekhrietuo Solo, in an order, has directed all the business establishments to register/renew their trade license as per Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 as notified. “Defaulter(s) will be strictly dealt with as per the provisions of the law,” it added.

CM convenes meeting

Kohima, January 22 (MExN): Chief Minister and the Convenor of the Assembly's Select Committee to Examine the Nagaland-Assam Border Issue, Neiphiu Rio has convened a meeting of the Committee on January 24 at 10:00 am in the Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. All the members of the committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

Dimapur DRDA employees to resume office

Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): The officers and staff of Dimapur DRDA on January 21 called off their ongoing agitation on the condition that the Government of Nagaland clears their pending salaries and arrears latest by the end of March 2022. Informing this in a press release on Friday, the DRDA employees stated that the decision was taken during a meeting on January 21 based on an appeal made by the Commissioner & Secretary, Government Nagaland on January 17. Stating that the decision was taken “In the larger interest of the public and the department,...as per the assurance made by the Government of Nagaland to clear the salary at the earliest,” the employees cautioned that “non fulfilment will call for legal action for which the Government shall be liable for cost of attorney’s fee and any other expenses incurred.”

‘Freedom Rally’ in Kohima on January 23

Kohima, January 22 (MExN): The Watchman in collaboration with Awaken India Movement is organising a peaceful rally under the theme ‘Restitutio de Libertus’ in cohesion with the ‘Freedom Rally’ that will take place across the globe on January 23 at Old MLA Hostel Junction, Opposite Viliethie Complex, Kohima.  According to a press release, the rally would feature speakers from various churches, intellectuals and social workers who shall be highlighting series of matters of concern and deliberate on the need of restoration of personal liberty and self determination, which is an inherent God given right. Compulsory COVID-19 vaccines mandates and other related issues would be highlighted at the rally.  A time of praise and worship and confession of sins and prayers for the people is also scheduled at the rally, it added.
