The Jan Kalyankari Yojana Prachar Prasar Abhiyan (JKYPPA) first executive cum consultative meeting was held at LCS Building, Kohima on April 1. The meeting deliberated at length how the Centrally Sponsored Schemes under the programme is being implemented in Nagaland and if proper awareness is created. The main focus for Nagaland at present would be to start the free sewing machine scheme to cover women under the age group 20-40 for women empowerment and income generation for the target group, it stated. The executive, headed by Philip Chadiseb, State President has informed that the JKYPPA district units will be formed soon. The annual sports meet of Nagaland University Students’ Union Lumami (NUSU-L) was held from March 31 to April 2 at the Dr T Ao Sports Complex. The opening ceremony was graced by Prof Pardeshi Lal, Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University. Various events like basketball, volleyball, football, marathon, athletic and indoor games etc. were conducted during the meet. Team Falcons emerged as the overall champion. The closing ceremony and price distribution was held at I.Ihoshe Kinimi Hall where Dr Abemo, Registrar NU, Lumami was the guest speaker.
