With the surge of COVID-19 positive cases in Kiphire town, the Kiphire District Task Force has ordered for the closure of all shops within Kiphire town after nine shopkeepers tested positive cases the previous week, and to conduct sample testing and contact tracing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The random sample testing for the shopkeepers was conducted on May 12 and nine more positive cases were detected out of 86 samples. The Department of Land Resources, Mon distributed coffee pulpers to beneficiaries to ease the process of pulping cherry coffee for the planters on May 12. The project was sponsored by North Eastern Council. The pulpers were handed over to the beneficiaries by DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS. Related to the program, a Coffee Bar was installed at DPO Office, Mon which was also inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner. (DIPR Photo)
