Training of ANMs and CHOs on HIV and Syphilis screening- Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, Basic Service Division with Technical support from SHARE INDIA conducted  training of ANMs and CHOs on HIV and Syphilis screening in Wokha district (February 16), Mon district (February 28 and March 1) and Zunheboto district (March 17). The resource persons included Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir, Deputy Director NSACS, Dr Puleno Kennao, Project Officer, SHARE INDIA, Vikehiel Thapo, Consultant SHARE INDIA and Lab Technicians. The nurses were imparted on the importance of early testing, linkage and treatment through ‘Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission’ (PPTCT) services and Community based Screening (CBS). Slides on National Viral Hepatitis Control program were also shared. Hands on training on Whole Blood Finger Prick Test on HIV and Syphillis testing was also demonstrated to the trainees.  
 

Team of professionals from National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan), (NIEPID), Secunderabad conducted a training for caregivers on Inclusion of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in collaboration with office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Nagaland’s State Disability Forum (NSDF). Diethono Nakhro, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities was the chief guest. While awareness about various aspects of Inclusion of Children with special needs, various schemes and benefits being offered by Government of India (GoI) and KIRAN MHRH Helpline was provided to the participants by the team of professionals consisting of Dr Ravi Prakash, Officer Incharge, NIEPID RC Navi Mumbai, Dr Neeraj Mishra, Lecturer Occupational Therapy, CRC Davangere and Keerti Sudha Rajput, Rehabilitation Psychologist.

The Food Safety Cell, O/o Chief Medical Officer, Mon in coordination with Mon Chamber of Commerce & Industries organized two-day online licensing & registration camp for Food Business Operators (FBO) on March 24 and 25 at Samnyu and Walo ward. FBOs who missed the camp are requested to apply online through the website www.foscos.fssai.gov.in.

Dr Esther Chophy Ngullie, Dr Ivikali Achumi, Dr Bokaho Yeptho from District Hospital Zunheboto along with Dr Achem Sangtam CHC Aghunato conducted dental health camp under National Oral Health Programme(NOHP) at Ghukiye Village on March 24. Free medicines, toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed and 70 beneficiaries from the camp.

Refresher training on Routine Immunization for Medical Officers under Peren district was held at CMO office Peren on March 25. Dr G Razoukhrielie Rio, Dy Director highlighted the National Immunization Schedule, managing immunization sessions, Universal Immunization programme and responsibilities of the Medical Officers. Dr Shiela, SMO, WHO gave an overview of routine immunization and strategies to improve coverage, AEFI, safety and waste disposal. Kingston Kamkara, SPO, UNDP and Rajesh Monsang, RPO, UNDP spoke on Cold Chain and Logistics management, eVIN and CoWIN, recording and reporting and Communication plan: strategies to improve Routine Immunization coverage. Dr Lanuakum, Dy CMO urged the SMOs and MOs to take the opportunity to interact and address difficulties. A day-long refreshers’ training on Routine Immunization for Medical Officers of Mokokchung and Longleng district was held at Conference hall, CMO office, Mokokchung on the March 22. Dr R Chubala Aier, CMO, Mokokchung welcomed the team from Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, Medical Officers and facilitators from WHO & UNDP. The Medical Officers were trained on strategies to improve Routine Immunization, National Immunization schedule & managing Immunization schedule, Cold chain and logistics management, AEFI, Safety & Waste disposal, Recording-Reporting & using data for action (HMIS, MCTS,SS etc) and communication plan strategies. The facilitators were Dr Rio, Dy Director, DoHFW, Dr Sheila SMO WHO, Rajesh K Monsang, RPO UNDP, and Kingson Kamkara SPO UNDP.

International Aainball Sport training session was held in Kohima under the initiative of Nagaland Aainball Association (NAA) state manager and President Avizo Nienu and his team. The training was imparted to the students of Government Middle School (GMS), Tsiesema under Kohima district. The Association will be conducting similar training in different locations and districts.
