A day-long refreshers’ training on Routine Immunization for Medical Officers of Mokokchung and Longleng district was held at Conference hall, CMO office, Mokokchung on the March 22. Dr R Chubala Aier, CMO, Mokokchung welcomed the team from Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, Medical Officers and facilitators from WHO & UNDP. The Medical Officers were trained on strategies to improve Routine Immunization, National Immunization schedule & managing Immunization schedule, Cold chain and logistics management, AEFI, Safety & Waste disposal, Recording-Reporting & using data for action (HMIS, MCTS,SS etc) and communication plan strategies. The facilitators were Dr Rio, Dy Director, DoHFW, Dr Sheila SMO WHO, Rajesh K Monsang, RPO UNDP, and Kingson Kamkara SPO UNDP.

The Eastern Christian College (ECC), Dimapur organised a Cultural Fiesta titled ‘United Colours' on March 25. The event, organised by the Department of History, Education and Economics, was sponsored by North East Zone Cutural Centre with Horbill TV as the media partner. Dr Keneisenuo Solo, Principal, ECC exhorted the gathering on the significance of observing such events and encouraged the students to imbibe qualities of hard work, honesty and confidence in one’s abilities. The students participated in various competitions such as Folk Dance, Folk Songs, Folklore Narration, Indigenous Cuisine and Cultural Fusion Display. (Photo Courtesy: ECC) 

The annual literary and sports week of ICFAI University Nagaland was held with the theme ‘Build Together’ from March 22 to 26. The five days annul week began with the literary competitions and indoor games and the outdoor events included football, cricket, basketball, volleyball and others. Football and basketball match between the present students and the alumni were also organized on 24 and 26 March respectively. The Marathon race was sponsored by Liso, an indigenous cosmetic brand. 

The department of English of KROS College, Kohima commemorated ‘World Theatre Day’ on March 26 by showcasing the variety of theatre and spread the message of love and unity through the medium. The department also organised the program with a view to reduce stress and aid to the mental health of the students, a DIPR report informed. Nagamese Baptist Churches Association (NBCA) organised off road prayer tour cum street preaching programme in various parts of Nagaland basing on the theme ‘stand firm in prayer’ from March 21 to 25. The association has covered nine districts of Nagaland. Street preaching was conducted in some districts Town.

The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) on March 25 organised a short send-off program for the State Team leaving to participate at the 2022 Under-20 (Junior) Boys Free Style, Greco Roman Style & Women National Wrestling Championship to be held at Patna, Bihar from March 29 to 31. The wrestlers includes; Popo Puro  in 57 kg, Zayievoto Kiso in  61kg, Kusayi Tsütso in  65 kg and Huselü  in  62 kg. The team is led by Virendra Kumar as the Head Coach, Amos Pame as Manager and Ruokuotouü Sachu as Asst. Team Manager, according to NWA General Secretary Vilekho Bio.
