Evergreen VLO Seyochung Village, under BMMU, Sitimi-Block, Kiphire celebrated International Women’s Day at Seyochung Village public ground under the theme ‘Women in Leadership; achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 World.’ Sechumla, Community Health Officer, Primary Health Sub-Center Seyochung was the theme speaker. Success story was shared by Tokhuli Sangtam, Community Service Provider-Livelihood. Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a friendly volleyball tournament to mark international women's day at Kiphire. The tournament witnessed participation from teams of Assam Rifles, 14 IRB, USSC and Pungro Town. The Kohima Garrison of Assam Rifles commemorated the 111th International Women's Day at Kohima. Speakers from Tabitha Enabling Academy, Kohima, MIQLAT Ministry, Dimapur and Good Samaritans Senior Citizen Home, Meriema exhorted the 111 women participants. As a run up to the International Women's Day, women Kohima Garrison of AR also undertook various activities over the last eight days to include a trek to Puliebadze, visit to Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home, and an art & craft workshop at ‘The Art Village’, Kohima. Community Health Initiative (CHI) and Prodigals Home celebrated International Women's Day with the female inmates and police personal at Dimapur District Jail under the theme ‘Women in Leadership achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’. An awareness of menstrual hygiene management and training female inmates on making their own sanitary pads was conducted by Loreni Sophia (CHI). CHI distributed free sanitary pads for the female inmates. Ajung Longkumer from Prodigals Home gave awareness on mental health. The special guest Ani Yepthomi, Breeze Women Welfare Association encouraged the female inmates not to quit and celebrate as a woman.

Chubala, CMO of Mokokchung Dist as the chief guest felicitated Sentikala, Moanaro Imchen and Nurses Association of India, Mokokchung with certificates of appreciation for their contribution towards society during the difficult times of COVID-19 in Mokokchung. Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, BMMU Kuhuboto observed International Women’s Day at Ghokito village. The Kuphu Village Level Organization (VLO) celebrated the day under the theme “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”. All the seven SHGs under Kuphu VLO, BMMU staff and village council members attended the programme. Chenton Konyak, Block Program Manager briefly shared on the significance of the day and highlighted on the contributions made by the SHGs during the pandemic. The District Administration, KVK Mon, KNSK and ATBC Women’s Department jointly with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon celebrated International Women’s Day at ATBC, Aboi, Mon. Chumlamo, ADC Aboi, Lithrila Sangtam, SDO (C) and Major Sushil Gill, 13th Assam Rifle graced the event. Short speeches were delivered by Rev Pastor Yeangphong, Pastor ATBC, Lithrila Sangtam and Pangao, President KU, Aboi Unit. Felicitation of awards to five best women contribution to the community by KVK Mon, KNSK and ATBC Women’s Department was presented.
