The Unity Family Welfare, DEF Wokha in collaboration with CMO office Wokha and Sakhi-One stop centre organized a free medical camp at SP Office Wokha on September 7. The programme was chaired by Khriesaviko ABI. Sepenro ASHA co-coordinator spoke on the importance of Iodized salt consumption and demonstrated the dissimilarity of iodized and non-iodized salt and encouraged the public to consume iodized salt to avoid health complications. Renthunglo Kikon, Centre Administrator Sakhi-One Stop Centre, introduced the scope and functions of OSC Wokha and requested the community to help and assist any women or girls who are or may be a potential victim of violence and avail the facility provided by women crisis centre.  About 118 people participated in the free medical camp and Dr. Khesili MO IDSP, endowed with free health check up and distributed medicines accordingly.  (Photo Courtesy: Saki-One Stop Centre)

The Mao community in Delhi held its annual gathering cum 49th fresher's meet on August 31 at Shah Auditorium, Civil Lines, New Delhi. Dr Lorho S Pfoze, MP, Lok Sabha, Outer Manipur Constituency and Lokho Pukini IRS Deputy Commissioner Income Tax, Government of India, were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively. The event witnessed a gathering of more than 800 people. Cultural performances under the theme "Cultivating success with perseverance'' was showcased, while speeches and exhortation were given by the guests and seniors to the young students. A team of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Tseminyu region visited the families affected by the recent storm at Gwachonlo village under Tseminyu sub-division of Kohima district on August 30. The team was led by NDPP Tseminyu region President, Daniel Tep under the guidance of R Khing, Advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources department. The Department of Political Science, Eastern Christian College (ECC), Padumpukhuri, visited veteran Naga politician former Chief Minister of Nagaland and former Governor of Odisha Dr. SC Jamir at his residence at Chümuokedima on September 6. The ECC paid the visit as a part of exposure study to understand the ongoing Naga political issues, its problems and prospects. Shree Agarwal Mahasabha Dimapur carried out extensive fogging at its Phaipijang Village Dimapur to protect the residents from various mosquito borne diseases on September 4 under Clean Dimapur Mission. The fogging drive was conducted under the guidance of Agarwal. In addition to the fogging drive, awareness was raised among the locals to take precautionary measures from mosquito borne diseases. Rengma Students' Union (RSU) held its 5th Union Assembly for the tenure 2017-2019 at Kashanyishin Village Council Hall, Tseminyu on September 7.The Assembly was hosted by Kasha Daho Students' Union (KDSU).
