Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): The Anglers Association Nagaland (AAN) observed World Fish Migration Day 2022 on at Brooder Fish Farm, Half Nagarajan, Dimapur on Amy 28. Similar programmes were organised in Mokokchung, Wokha and Tuensang district headquarters by respective district chapters of AAN.

The associated in a press release stated that the day is observed to raise awareness and join others in protecting and preserving the many threatened species of fish that migrate for feeding, breeding, or even dying and also to encourage the young people to take up angling as a sport.

Participants of the programme included children of different age groups who took part in drawing and painting competition besides making them familiar with angling etiquette. Participants were also made the experience catch and release of the fishes. Prizes of different competitions and categories were given away to participants.

Imtisunep, District Fishery Officer, Dimapur, Nagaland graced the programme in Dimapur as special guest while T Tatong Longchar, District Fishery Officer, Mokokchung was the special guest at Mokokchung. In Wokha, Ralanthung Ezung, DFO, Wokha was the special invitee and in Tuensang, ADC Tuensang Thungchanbemo was the special guest and Mhomo Murry, DFO Tuensang was the special invitee.
