Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): In order to drive enrolments under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) and National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self-Employed Persons (NPS-Traders), the Labour Ministry is celebrating Pension Week from November 30 to December 6. 
In Nagaland, the event was celebrated in different districts. 
Kohima: In Kohima, a function was held at DC's Conference Hall. ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa speaking on special enrolment stated that many of our people are engaged in unorganized sector such as street vendors, laborers, home-based workers etc. without having knowledge of the availability of such benefits.
She urged the gathering to spread the availability of the benefits among their fellow friends and encouraged each Unorganized Workers (UW) between the age group of 18 years to 40 years to enroll and invest in this scheme in order to avail the benefits after attaining the age of 60 years. She also suggested that the concerned department may come up with some translated copies on the scheme in local dialects for awareness amongst the general masses.
Kewekote Teno, Asst Labour Commissioner giving a short introduction of the scheme stated that any unorganized worker can visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with Aadhaar Card and Saving/Jan-Dhan account documents for enrollment. He said that if any unorganized worker subscribes the scheme and has paid regular contribution up to the age of 60 years, he will get a minimum monthly pension of Rs. 3000 and if the subscriber dies, the spouse of the beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension as family pension. Family pension is applicable only to spouse.
The Branch Manager of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Kohima, Aienla also spoke on the pension fund to be managed by the LIC. She said that the LIC will act as a fund manager for the scheme and will also be a service provider for payment of pension to the subscriber. She pointed out that the longevity of life has increased from an average age of 58 years to 65 years as per statistic therefore pension and health has become the most important issue in today’s life. She therefore encouraged the gathering to have health insurance and pension scheme for social security reason in the long run.
The programme was chaired by District Manager CSC, Nganuo. It was attended by the President of Kohima Traders Union and colleagues, students and unorganized workers besides the committee members.
Wokha: In Wokha, the function held at DC conference hall was graced by MLA Dr ChumbenMurry as the special guest.
Addressing the beneficiaries during the enrolment drive, Murry said that with less investment the government is contributing maximum returns to the beneficiaries where he also appealed to all the participants to spread awareness among their community to increase enrolment.
He appealed to the department concerned to give more effort and use platforms by way of having proper coordination with the entrepreneurs, NGOs, churches and stakeholders to increase investors as the statistic shown in the data for Wokha district is very less (3.05 %).
DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha said it is a very good opportunity for the unorganized workers and encouraged eligible individuals to get enrolled for the success of this scheme.
Asstt Labour Commissioner, Wokha, Renchamo Ngullie while giving the key note address on PMSYM & NPS-Traders said to reach out to all the beneficiaries this programme will be a weeklong activity involving the Common Service Centers (CSCs) service providers to help the beneficiaries to get enrollment.
District Manager CSC Wokha who presented the process flow of the scheme highlighted about the enrolment procedure and documents required. He further urged the eligible beneficiaries to visit the CSC office with the following documents like Aadhar card, Account details of any Bank, Mobile number, Date of Birth, Nominee name and Nominee date of birth certificate for enrolment.
After the programme, webcasting of the event of PMSYM & NPS Traders was done followed by on spot registration/enrolment. The function was chaired by EAC (HQ) Imtinungla Lonkumer.
Kiphire: The special enrolment celebration programme was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kiphire.
Special guest, Chenithung Ovung EAC Kiphire in his speech mentioned that the scheme is for the unorganized workers and citizens should take responsibility for helping the Labour Department in creating awareness in disseminating the news for enrolment. He encouraged the Labour Department to take pro- active role.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Kiphire T Thsipenthe Sangtam delivered the keynote address 
The brief highlights of the scheme was given by District Manager CSC PV e- Governance ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and after the formal function enrolment to the prospective beneficiaries also continued at the Local Ground Kiphire. Tsalichum, Secretary KTCCI and Chumlongse, Secretary Eleven Ward Union spoke in the function. The function was chaired by Labor Inspector Kiphire, K Rothrongki Sangtam.
Peren: In Peren, the programme held at ADC conference Hall Old Peren Town was chaired by SDO (C) Peren, Vejoyo Swuro. Labour Inspector Dimapur, Yolise Sangtam delivered the keynote address.
ADC Peren, Moa Sangtam stated that once registration is done under PM- SYM & NPS - traders the beneficiaries should start maintaining minimum balance in their respective bank accounts. He encouraged the beneficiaries to avail the opportunity which in turn will benefit them in their future. Moreover, he urged the stakeholders who attended the program to spread awareness in their respective towns and villages who are in unorganised sector.
After the programme, an open discussion hour was held where doubts and queries were clarified.
Tuensang: Programme for Tuensang district was held at DC Conference Hall. It was organised by Labour Department, DC Tuensang, Mohammad Ali Shihab declared open the National Pension Scheme for traders special enrolment drive programme.
A live telecast by Minister of Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar was shown through projector. Keynote address was delivered by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Tuensang I. Rolongse Sangtam. He also informed the participants that the enrolment drive till 6th December 2019 would be free of charge so he urged the participants to avail the opportunity date.
The programme was chaired by Labour Inspector, Tuensang S Niulu and highlight of the scheme was initiated by Thepongse VLE (CSC).
