Nagaland: One more COVID death, 94 fresh cases emerge

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Nagaland recorded one COVID death in Kiphire district and 94 fresh cases on Saturday. A total of 171 patients also recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.  The daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme indicated that Dimapur recorded 32 fresh cases, Mokokchung 18, Kohima 12, Peren 11, Tuensang 11, Phek 9, and Wokha 1. The new cases were detected from 1,123 samples that were tested, returning a daily positivity rate of 8.37 %. It said 98 people recovered in Dimapur, Mokokchung 42, Kohima 8, Zunheboto 8, Tuensang 6, Wokha 3, Longleng 2, Mon 2, and Phek 2.  With this, the cumulative tally of cases in the state is now at 24,191 out of which 1,979 are active cases, and 21,058 are recovered cases. The official COVID death toll is now at 454, excluding 14 other deaths that were categorised as ‘not COVID related’ in the bulletin. A total of 686 cases have migrated to other states.
