
Kohima, February 3 (MExN): The 34th National Games Jharkhand is scheduled to be held from February 12 to 26 at Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. Ranchi is the main venue where opening and closing ceremony shall be conducted. A total of 34 sport disciplines shall be conducted, 24 disciplines at Ranchi, 4 at Jamshepur and 6 at Dhanbad. Nagaland Olympic Association, General Secretary, T. Meren Paul in a press release has informed that Nagaland has qualified in few events only therefore a small contingent of 24 sports person consisting 4 Athletes, 4 Boxers, 1 Karateka, 1 Wrestler and 16 from Sepaktakreaw Women, 13 Team Officials and 5 Contingent official shall participate in the National Games. Archery is among the Team expected to qualify through the National Championship that is yet to be played at Vijawada from February 5. Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA & Chairman NHKV is the Chef de Mission of the State contingent who will be assisted by Deputy Chef de Mission in all three venues. The Chef de Mission and the contingent Officials are leaving for Ranchi on February 9.
