Nagaland Planning Minister calls for effective developmental activities

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): The Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kruno on April 6 called upon the officers and staff of Planning Machinery, Planning and Coordination Department to push forward the State with a vision to bring a greater level of development across the State.  

In his statement, the Minister highlighted on evolving an appropriate system to give direction to new development model and plans to develop the State in all fronts with substantial and efficient delivery system.  

Calendar of action for the Planning Department’s businesses was finalized and important agenda concerning State developmental activities including escalation of project costs, negotiated loans, lingering projects, process for clearing of files and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) were discussed.  

Referring to the commitment of the present PDA Government for bringing change in the system, the Minister significantly remarked that basic necessary change in the system needs to be implemented and enforced immediately as the new Government sets targets of 100 days, 200 days and 1 year for achievable goals keeping strict timeline. He also informed that, the Government shall strictly monitor the performances of all the Departments and identify both performing and non-performing Departments in the State for allocation of financial outlays.  

In his closing remark, he pointed out the importance of State Planning Department with regard to state development activities and encourage the Officer’s & staff of the Department to be efficient and effective in delivering services and strive to becoming the best performing Departments.  

M. Patton, Commissioner & Secretary chaired the meeting and Nosazol Charles, Additional Development Commissioner presented the activities of the Department and initiated the discussions on various agenda. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Addl. Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, Nagaland Civil Secretariat.
