The Out-of-Turn Promotion and DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc Award ceremony was held today at PHQ Central Lobby.

T John Longkumer, IPS, Director General of Police, Nagaland, graced the occasion.

The following officers and personnel of Narcotic Police Station under 1GP (CID) PHQ were awarded the Out-of-Turn Promotion' to the next higher rank: ASI Zasili, Hav Abemo, Hav Y. Wilson, Naik Zhovio, UBC Limayanger, UBC Ralanbemo, UBC Vilavotuo, ABC Chinyom and ABC Tayongmeren.

DGP Nagaland also awarded the 'DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc' to  Sonia Singh, IPS, IGP (IR Bn), Nagaland, Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, SP Noklak, Lydia Tungoe, Steno attached to AIGP (Ops) PHQ, Michael Angami, Typist PHQ, ABI Imliri Ao (STF), Hav John O Tsopoe (STF), Hav Kenito Wotsa  (STF), Hav Kh. Ramesh Singh (STF), Hav Hoto Sumi (STF), Hav N. Hokato  Sumi (STF), Naik Mudozhoyi (STF), CN Yanbemo (STF), C/N Nanwang Konyak (STF) and C/N Y. Nyanbemo Kikon (STF).

The officer and personnel of Narcotic Police Station were awarded the ‘Out-of-Turn Promotion’ for their role in detecting smuggled gold bars weighing approximately 48  Kgs (one of the highest in the country) and contraband narcotic substance during their  duty at Narcotic Check Point, Khuzama in 2021, while the 'DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc' recipients were awarded for their dedication, sincerity and devotion to service with exemplary performance in their duties.

The DGP congratulated all the officers and personnel who were given the 'Out-of-Turn Promotion' and the recipients of the 'DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc'.

Stating that the recipients have set an example for the Nagaland Police by their dedication and sincerity to duty, he said that it will encourage and challenge other officers, men and women of the department to perform their assigned duty diligently with full dedication and determination.

Further, the DGP encouraged all officers and personnel present to be ready to take up new challenges and responsibilities in the evolving law and order situation of the state.

Earlier, S Tokiumong Yim, IPS, IGP (Headquarter) presided over the function while Roopa M, IPS, DIG (CID/HR&SJ) gave the background note on the ‘Out-of-Turn Promotion’ and M Rhovisie Nyuwi, NPS, AIGP (Adm), read out the 'Citation of DGP Commendation Disc' Awardees.
